Ownership mentality at the workplace.
No magic wand will make your employees take ownership of the business and run it as theirs. The availability of these kinds of persons is very low. It could be 5 out of 100 who possess the kind of personality that makes them take ownership.
However, everyone at the workplace is talented. This is where team and talent management are very important.
🎯School leaders need to encourage everyone to be the best they can be using their strengths. When your focus is to develop their talents and not just for your selfish gains but to help them genuinely acquire skills, your team will put in their best.
🎯Give minor roles to every member of your team apart from the regular job they applied for. This will empower them and help them develop important leadership qualities.
Do you want your team to grow? There has to be a professional development program that allows employees to acquire management skills at each level.
Helping employees create personal career goals can encourage dedication and excitement for their jobs. It also can allow you to see what motivates them and areas of their work that they hope to improve or develop while at the school.
With this knowledge, you can make training programs and opportunities available for employees to learn new skills and achieve their goals and objectives. For example, if an employee's goal is to work toward a managerial position, consider providing them with opportunities to test their leadership capabilities and learn important managerial skills at the level they are.
This will also help you fill in managerial positions at the point of an employee exit, At each point, someone in the organization is moving towards leadership.
Sitting around and blaming employees for not taking ownership will only get you acting weird towards your employees which will create more problems.
