JOB OVERVIEW:
Assist individuals and communities to adopt healthy behaviors. Conduct outreach for medical personnel or health organizations to implement programs in the community that promote, maintain, and improve individual and community health. May provide information on available resources, provide social support and informal counseling, advocate for individuals and community health needs, and provide services such as first aid and blood pressure screening.
Managing and protecting a community’s way of life. From possible health risks is the responsibility of a COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKERS that works with us. You'll be required to utilise your knowledge of disease control, health and safety guidelines and research. You will work with PROWER(PROFESSIONAL HUMAN WELLNESS EXECUTIVE RESOURCES) in bringing Health and Wellness to the door post of Nigerians as it bodes well with our mission statement(Ending the trend Chronic Diseases, death and poverty in the country).
They will also be involved in carrying out health campaign exercise locally and also international training at least once a year where you'll be trained as a Nutritionist. As we believe that health education will go a long way in bringing people out from ignorance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Advise clients or community groups on issues related to improving general health, such as diet or exercise.
Advise clients or community groups on issues related to self-care, such as diabetes management.
Advise clients or community groups on issues related to diagnostic screenings, such as breast cancer screening, pap smears, glaucoma tests, or diabetes screenings.
Coaches patients in effective management of their chronic health conditions and self-care. Assists patient in understanding care plans and instructions.
Motivates patients/clients to be active and engaged participants in their health and overall wellbeing.
Travels extensively to client homes, community locations, various agencies, and other outreach destinations.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Distribute flyers, brochures, or other informational or educational documents to inform members of a targeted community.
Monitor nutrition of children, elderly, or other high-risk groups.
Perform basic diagnostic procedures, such as blood pressure screening, breast cancer screening, or communicative disease screening.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
°Must Have a degree in any health related fields like;
Environmental Health, Epidemiology, Health Services Administration/Management, Maternal and Child Health, Nutrition, Nursing etc.
