Stop blaming your sales team. You don't have a sales problem; you have a math problem.

If your business is making money but your bank account is constantly on life support, you are bleeding cash from places you aren't even looking.

If you want to build a business that actually survives long-term, you need to stop ignoring the rest of the dashboard. Here are the other metrics you are probably neglecting:

1. Revenue:
This is all the money your business generates from selling products or services. Stop celebrating this number. Revenue is not profit; it only tells you how much came in before anything is removed.

2. Operating Expenses / OPEX:
These are the costs of keeping your business running, whether you sell or not. Examples include rent, staff salaries, marketing, internet, tools, logistics, and admin costs. They do not care if you had a slow sales month.

3. Net Profit: This is what remains after everything is deducted. If this is unclear or inconsistent, the business is not financially stable yet.

4. Profit Margin:
This is the percentage of profit you make from each sale. It shows how efficient your business is at converting sales into actual earnings. If your margins are thin, you are working yourself to the bone just to stand still.

Understanding these numbers is no longer optional; it is a basic business survival skill. What you don’t measure will eventually cost you your business.

Start tracking.

PART 2: Both the employer and the employee were at fault.

Business owners, let's talk.
You don’t measure productivity… but you expect results?

❌ No KPIs.
❌ No targets.
❌ No reporting structure.

Yet you’re frustrated about low sales and slow growth.

You can’t improve what you don’t measure, and you can’t scale what you don’t track. If your business is running on vibes instead of data, it’s time to fix your performance structure.

Now, for the employee:
What are you doing in a position where you don't have a JD, clear KPIs, or performance appraisals?

Are you a weapon fashioned against your own growth?

🛑 Stop running on autopilot.

Comment TRACK if you’re ready to build real accountability into your business.

1️⃣ Stop underpricing your work just to make it easier for clients to say yes.

2️⃣ Stop working without structure and expecting clarity to appear.

3️⃣ Stop trying to do everything yourself — that’s not strength, that’s burnout in disguise.

4️⃣ Stop saying yes to everything out of fear of missing opportunities.

5️⃣ Stop working without a clear sales process — confusion kills growth.

6️⃣ Stop rebuilding your business every time you feel overwhelmed.

7️⃣ Stop chasing trends instead of focusing on what already works.

8️⃣ Stop comparing your journey to businesses on a different path.

9️⃣ Stop ignoring customer feedback because it feels uncomfortable.

🔟 Stop treating rest like something you have to earn.

Growth is not just about doing more.
It’s about removing what’s quietly working against you.

Some habits you have are what makes your journey harder than it needs to be.

Which one are you guilty of?

Who is really at fault here, and is it fair on the employee?

This is still a common issue in many businesses today.

When expectations are unclear, performance becomes subjective, and frustration follows on both sides.

Business owners and entrepreneurs, this is your reminder:

Give your staff clear Job Descriptions (JDs) and defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

You’re wasting hours doing what AI can do in minutes.

And it’s costing your business more than you think.

Most small business owners don’t have a time problem…
They have a leverage problem.

If you’re not using AI properly, you’re working harder than necessary.

Here are 5 prompts every smart business owner should be using:

1️⃣ Generate Marketing Ideas
“Give me 5 creative social media post ideas for my [type of business] that will attract new clients.”

2️⃣ Write Customer Emails
“Write a friendly follow-up email to a client who hasn’t replied in 3 days.”

3️⃣ Create Product Descriptions
“Write 3 compelling product descriptions for [product/service] that highlight benefits and persuade customers to buy.”

4️⃣ Plan Promotions
“Suggest 5 simple promotional campaigns to increase sales for my small business this month.”

5️⃣ Handle Customer Questions
“Write clear and professional responses to common customer questions about [product/service].”

Start using these.
Adjust them to your business and watch how much faster you get results.

💬 Comment AI if you want more practical prompts.

For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. — Proverbs 2:6

Heavenly Father,
Let Your knowledge guide my thinking, and your understanding directs our paths.
Where there is confusion, bring clarity.
Where there is uncertainty, bring direction.
Where there are decisions to be made, grant sound judgment.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Say this prayer over your life, business and Family.
