😳🥰 WHAT DOES IT REALLY MEAN TO BE A WIFE? (Don't downplay the impact of this question)
A young woman once asked me: "WHAT MAKES SOMEONE A GOOD WIFE?"
She probably expected a list that includes cooking, caring for the home, supporting her husband, raising children, being submissive, and keeping the family together.
But I told her:
BEING A WIFE IS NOT A JOB DESCRIPTION. IT IS A PARTNERSHIP.
A wife is not simply the woman who lives in the same house with a man.
..She is often his friend when life is beautiful, his confidante when life becomes confusing, and his partner when difficult decisions have to be made.
But there is something we sometimes forget:
A wife also needs a partner, she needs someone who listens to her, respects her voice, protects her dignity, supports her dreams, and understands that her strength does not mean she never gets tired.
Marriage should honestly not be: "WHAT CAN MY WIFE DO FOR ME?"
🥰 It should rather be: "HOW CAN WE MAKE LIFE BETTER FOR EACH OTHER?"
Because...love eventually moves beyond butterflies and sweet messages.
👌🏽 There will be bills, misunderstandings, career pressures, family expectations, bad days.
👌🏽 There will definitely be moments when one person is stronger and the other needs support.
..and that's where partnership becomes more important than romance.
A healthy wife shouldn't have to carry the emotional weight of an entire marriage, and a healthy husband shouldn't have to carry it alone either.
Marriage works best when two people stop competing over who gives more and start paying attention to what the relationship needs.
..SO, WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A WIFE?
💕 It means choosing partnership over performance.
💕 Friendship over control.
💕 Understanding over assumptions.
💕 Commitment over convenience.
..and love, is not merely as a feeling, but as a daily decision to care for another person's wellbeing while still remaining a whole person yourself.
Because the best marriages aren't built by a "PERFECT WIFE" OR A "PERFECT HUSBAND."
..they are built by two imperfect people who keep learning how to love each other better.
