I get a lot of messages from people asking me: โHow do I start a blog?โ
Let me be honest with youโIโm not ignoring your questions out of pride.
Itโs just that I canโt reply to everyone individually.
Thatโs why I decided to put this together for all beginners who want to start their blogging journey the right way.
๐ My advice: before you jump into my DM with questions, please go through these beginner blogging tips first.
Take note of each point, study them, and even start putting them into practice.
Then, if you still face challenges, you can come to me for help.
(Note: I donโt know it all. Iโll only answer the ones I can.)
Now letโs dive into the basics ๐
Blogging Tips for Beginners
1. Choose a niche โ Donโt just write about everything.
Pick a specific topic youโre passionate about and that people are interested in.
2. Know your audience โ Who are you writing for? Students? Business owners? Moms? Tech lovers? Understand them so you can serve them better.
3. Get inspired online โ Follow other bloggers in your niche. Not to copy, but to learn how they structure, write, and engage.
4. Learn what people are searching for โ Use tools like Google search suggestions, AnswerThePublic, or even social media trends to know what your audience wants.
5. Use keywords wisely โ Keywords are what help people find your blog on Google. Sprinkle them naturally in your content, not forcefully.
6. Organize your blog โ Structure your blog into categories so it looks neat and easy to navigate.
7. Create a content calendar โ Plan your posts ahead. Consistency is key in blogging.
8. Always start with an outline โ Before writing, create a simple outline. It makes writing easier and keeps you focused.
9. Back your content with data โ Facts, numbers, and research make your blog more trustworthy.
10. Write content that matters โ Donโt just write for writingโs sake. Write content that solves problems, answers questions, or inspires your readers.
11. Mix up your content โ Donโt only write long articles. Add guides, tutorials, listicles, case studies, and even personal stories.
12. Use visuals โ Pictures, infographics, or even short videos make your blog more engaging.
13. Build links smartly โ Link to your other posts and also link out to authority sites. This helps your SEO.
14. Prioritize long-form content โ Detailed posts (1,500โ3,000 words) perform better in search engines and provide more value.
15. Keep your content fresh โ Update your old posts from time to time to stay relevant.
16. Promote on social media โ Donโt just write and wait. Share your posts actively on Facebook, Twitter, IG, WhatsApp, or anywhere your audience is.
17. Expand your presence online โ Beyond your blog, build an active social media profile/page. This helps people find and trust you faster.
18. Check your analytics โ Pay attention to your traffic, which posts are doing well, and where your visitors are coming from. It helps you improve.
19. Monetize smartly โ Once you have traffic, you can join ad networks like Google AdSense, Adsterra, MGID, or even promote affiliate products.
