It has come to the notice of Environmental Health Practitioners that one of the aspects of pest and Vector Control otherwise called fumigation is now all comers business. All dick and Harry suddenly became pest control manager as if it is unskilled Labour.

It is instructive to state that you have the legal rights to firstly request for the valid license issued BY EHORECON a Council that regulates environmental health services in Nigeria from Whosoever that wants to carry out fumigation in your premises, firm or immediate environment, or else you may be paying for service that may kill you.

The statistics gathered from research carried out by above mentioned Council and other agencies such as NAFDAC, NESREA shows that there's huge ecological disruption and environmental degradation due to the uncontrolled hazardous chemical substances released during fumigation exercise by the quacks. Many have been sent to early grave or still managing some illnesses that is connected to the inhalation or ingestion of chemicals unknowingly.

A case for reference is the recent activity of the Federal Fire Services a government agency that is saddled with the responsibility of fighting and combating fire arrogated themselves power to fumigate a noble health institution in Ekiti State which later resulted into mess and many students went to the state of coma. Thank God for there's no death recorded so far.

The alarming increase of cancers in Nigeria could be traced to this due to the fact that those chemicals are carcinogenic in nature( they are capable of causing cancer in the nearest future).

You are hereby encouraged to patronize registered and licensed Environmental Health Officer in your area for professional services.

Stop patronizing quacks who only care about making profit without considering any environmental health implications on present and future generations.

Let's be more conscious because the health of a man largely depends his environment.
