At a time like this when the worlds shape and thinking has changed, has all not changed without any command, push or impulse? Conscious of the time and season, environment, dangers, challenges before us.
Before now, mych energy was expended on the need for "Security Consciousness" in which we advocate for one to be very conscious about everything around him and top it up with Awareness. Being conscious of your immediate surrounding, your neighbour, what car he drives, how many children he has, how many people are living with him, at what time everyday does his gate open and who comes in or goes out; At that your gate and street, are there security lights and at what time does it come up and off, how many people live on your street, your close and how is the environmwnt on a friday evening and sunday evening? Who plays his music loud and which days of the week; Which routes do you take to work, alternate routes? and etc. It was so much noise rhat meant nothing or less to many.
Cant that be said of again today? No. Mankind has alligned himself unconsciously to being conscious of everything including the air we breath, where we go, when and how we arrive there to say the least.
My dear friend, times have changed . With all the troubles and issues of the lockdown am happy for once that people are now more security conscious than ever before. They know when the sun sets and all that. They know their neighbours names, how they look etc and with the spread and dissemination of information vide the internet and other social media platforms, no doubt Awareness has been heightened as everyone has time now to read and you wonder what actually happened to mankind. That we lived in recklessness and carelessness all the while. That brings to fore my Topic today: SECURITY CONSCIOUSNESS AND AWARENESS.
Please have this at the back of your mind that Security Consciousness and Awareness is key to survival in this Post Covid Era.
Do not take anything for granted. Take note of the most ignoble things and be conscious of it. It might not make meaning today and then but might add up some day....Ask questions, tell someone about that thing you noticed or observed. You never can say. Your lifes matter the most and your security and safety is a priority.
Never say, it does not matter, It Does. Give it a second thought.
Dont assume. Assumption has led so many to early grave.
Be kind to people around you but the same be cautious. Most heinous crime agai st us has been comiited by people we have been kind to or given some tolerance space in our lifes.
Be yourself. Listen to your instincts.Most times, they are divine.
Above all, be aware of likely security challenges, actions to take in case of robbery, fire or any form of vice.
Have a number to always call or share yur thoughts or report.
Be aware of your area emergency toll free numbers and dont hesitate to call them if need be. You loose nothing doing so.
Above all things, be calm in every situation ad be focused. That will save a life.
