So, a few days back, I was watching some training videos by Derek Doekper and Steve Olsher and they mentioned something I found profound and true.
You see when dealing with challenges in your life, and you get to that point where you feel like giving up, if the goal to succeed isn't bigger than your own self-interest, then there is usually that tendency of giving up.
However, when the goal is beyond yourself, when the desire to complete a race is about helping others, enabling them to benefit from your triumph, you usually will succeed.
I know it is true because, for many years, I have worked from my comfort zone.
I have lots of knowledge in several areas but was not getting the level of results I wanted.
๐พ๐๐?
It's simple, I didnโt implement the knowledge gained!
I was being lazy. Too lazy to do the work required.
I procrastinated on taking a series of actions necessary for progress.
However, when it seemed like I was not getting the results I wanted, I changed.
Although changing didnโt come easy, I almost gave up several times. But I had to stick to the plan.
When I looked beyond myself and became determined to succeed, so I could help other people within my circle, I started getting improved results.
I was more determined to stay on course.
This quote from Derek Doekper did work magic in keeping my head straight ๐

Note guys, the greatest productivity hack is service to others. This can enable you to work through a lot more things.
Whenever I am working on something that is not just for my own benefit, it helps me get fired up and I find that it works for a lot of other people, to help motivate and inspire them when they realize that this is about something bigger than themselves.
So, I bring my discussion here to a close, with another quote from Derek...

What do you think?
Let me know...have there been times when the thought of helping others achieve their goals, helped you stay on course with your goals?
