To create a strong brand, you have to be focus, consistent and have a clear message that resonates with people.

You build your brand by staying in the core message that your business is all about. That is why you started your business because you had a goal, a drive.

My favorite quote by Steve Forbes states “your brand is the single most important investment you can make in your business”.

I couldn’t agree more. Note that your logo is not your brand and a brand is that idea and trust that helps establish credibility.

As a business owner, what do you do when your customers are not satisfied/happy with your service, mannerism and approach?

Customer service is making sure that your customer feels valued, respected and appreciated. It’s about your first impression. Always act in a manner that represents your brand by doing little things that will make your brand stand out over competitors.

If you want to build a great business then you need to see your customers and the services you render as the peak of your business. You need to understand that without customers, you are not in business so, it’s your customers that keeps you in business. You need to pay attention to the needs/wants of your customers and make them feel comfortable while doing business with you.

I’ll share few tips on how to get your business goals faster with a good customer service.

1. Always be present; Pay close attention to the person that is in front of you that is your “customer” and how to create an exceptional experience.

2. Ask questions; The best way to show your customers you care is by asking great questions and engaging them in a conversation. By that, you are able to gather information that will help you understand your customer. Be generally interested in your customers needs/wants. It will also help you to be a better sales person.

3. Be reliable; As a business owner, you need to be trustworthy it helps to increase your customer loyalty. Customer loyalty is hard to build and keep. Top-notch customer service increases customer loyalty.

4. Patience; it is one of the key components of any interaction with a customer. Every business owner needs to understand the professionalism of being patience because without it, a calm interaction can quickly become problematic and it is not healthy for any brand. You need to adjust to meet customer needs.

Great customer service can help you build trust, improve brand awareness, gain customer loyalty, drives sales and attract new customers through valuable recommendations.

We need to understand that the concept of marketing is not for business owners alone but applicable to everyone because marketing happens everyday in our daily life. It’s about influencing, persuading and connecting with people.

Marketing is all about communicating values to your customer. It helps people solve their problems by simply delivering solutions and explaining the benefits of the solution to your customers so that the can get a better result.

Having a good marketing is very important.

‘Philip Kotler’ said;

1. Marketing is not the art of finding clever way to dispose of what you make. It is the act of creating genuine customer value.

2. Authentic marketing is not the art of selling what you make, but it’s knowing what make.

3. The act of marketing is the art of brand building. If you are not a brand, you are a commodity. The best advertising is done by satisfied customers.

The ultimate goal of any marketing strategy is to help you grow your business, achieve and communicate a sustainable competitive advantage over rivals.

These are few ways that will help you develop an effective business marketing strategy.

1. Define your target market: Every product or service has an ideal customer and you should know who they are. know your demographics and psychographics. These will lead to how you want to position your product or service.

2. Know which medium to use: Identify different marketing methods to reach out to your potential prospect either by direct marketing, digital marketing, public Relations, or advertising etc. depending on your target audience. As a business owner, you need to pick the best methods that will help teach, explain and promote your product stand out above other competitors.

As a business owner, branding is a major tool. Brand awareness is a marketing objective. It is simply how well consumers recalls your product while going through their daily lives. You can create that by making sure you provide value, relevant message and you’re easy to find when people need you.

So, you need to figure out what content you can provide that is specific to your niche and add unique value.

I will list out few important ways you can create brand awareness.

1. Seek content collaboration with other brand with similar niche: it’s not what you know but who you know. Boost your brand by collaborating or associating with other brands. That doesn’t mean you have to knock on your competitor’s door, rather identify brands and business whose offerings complements yours and together you can develop webinars, conferences and other joint projects.

2. Work with influencers: In a world saturated with social media, influencers are your best brand ambassadors. Influencers are a popular marketing tactics. There is no need for expensive celebrity either. Influencers with smaller but with niche audiences and are therefore more affordable.

3. Use video story telling to engage your audience: Videos attracts attention and increases your brand awareness. It plays into the hands of two natural human instincts.

As a business owner, there are lots of channels you can market your business. I want to help you know some of the channels you can use for an effective marketing campaign.

Marketing attracts prospects. The aim of marketing is to know and understand the customer as well that the product or service sells itself. Ideally, marketing should result in a customer who is ready to buy. But how will you get the customers when you do not know where to meet them?

They are countless ways to promote your business. So, it’s important to identify and focus on the most important strategy that works for you. Here are few channels you should consider in your marketing strategy.

👉 Know your audience; First, you should have a clear understanding of your audience demography. Who is your audience, what do they do and how is your business going to help and serve them. People buy your product or service for what it will do for them not because of how it looks or who is selling it. Once you shift your focus from “How can I sell my product” to “how can I solve my customers problem” creating a strategy becomes a whole lot easier. Understand your customers pinpoint, then provide your product/service as a solution.

So today, I woke up with a thought on my mind. It’s the idea of Business Marketing.

Most Businesses, especially small business owners neglect the concept of Marketing.

Every business needs a marketing plan be it small, medium or big.

I had to do some research and came up with common misconceptions of marketing.

1. Our business is too small so we don’t need it: Every business needs a marketing plan. Marketing is getting your brand in front of your ideal customer and communicating the value that you provide to a particular group of people either by words of mouth, referrals or social media.

2. Our best product doesn’t need to be marketed if it’s already doing well: Customer behaviors are currently changing. If your product is doing well, that’s the best time you start your marketing action and be consistent in it.

3. We don’t have the time or money to market: As a small business owner, the budget can be restricted and it’s understandable. However, you started the business because you had a particular goal, objective and dream that you want to achieve. So spending day to day in the business and neglecting marketing that’s hard work but you can compliment that hard work with smart work that’s how you’re able to grow the business.

There are different ways to market a business that does not require a lot of money but require a better time. The use of social media marketing, email marketing, video marketing for content creation. All these are for free.
