A Guarantor is not just a helper you are a debtor in waiting
That small signature you drop out of loyalty can tie your entire future to another person’s debt.
Now, picture this
Your friend takes a loan. The bank asks for a guarantor. Out of trust, you sign. Months later, your “friend” disappears or defaults. Guess what? The bank doesn’t go searching for him first. They come straight for you the guarantor.
Your salary, your assets, even your peace of mind all on the line because of a signature you thought was harmless.
Before you sign as guarantor
🥢 Know the borrower well I mean very well.
🥢 Read and understand every loan term.
🥢 Ask yourself: Can I pay if they fail? If the answer is no, don’t sign.
In law, a guarantor is not a spectator.
A guarantor is a backup debtor.
So think twice before you guarantee once.
