Oasis PHC joins the world to mark 2018 World Cancer Day.
Cancer is a growing epidemic and the best way round it, especially for those of us in this part of the world with poor health care system is to prevent it.
Oasis PHC, through its intervention programme Cherish (Church electing and rising for health) has sent messages to health professionals within our reach to ask a few minutes of church time today or within the week to educate their members about the disease. If you are a health professional, please raise awareness about cancer in your area.
Early detection is key, let’s encourage our people to go for screening for those cancers that have proven screening tests (cervical cancer and breast cancer especially). Let’s promote hepatitis B and human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination to prevent liver and cervical cancer respectively.
Let us work together to prevent cancer death in our land. “We can. I can.” Please play your part!
