Chinese New Year 2026 begins on Tuesday, 17 February 2026. This is the most important holiday period in China and has a major impact on production, logistics, and quality control activities.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭?
On behalf of Quality Control, we would like to highlight the following:

🏭 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬
Many factories start slowing down or close partially 1–2 weeks before Chinese New Year and may only resume full production 1–3 weeks after the holiday period.

👷 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬
Large numbers of workers travel to their hometowns. After the holidays, not all employees return immediately, which can affect production capacity and product quality.

🚢 𝐋𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐬
Severe congestion often occurs at ports and with inland transport before and after Chinese New Year, leading to shipping delays and longer transit times.

🔍 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 & 𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐬
During the holiday period, inspections and factory audits are limited or not possible. Normal inspection activities usually resume once factories are fully operational again.

𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞

● Plan orders, inspections, and audits well in advance of Chinese New Year.
● Allow for extended lead times in production and shipping.
● Confirm restart dates and quality controls with your suppliers after the holiday.
