Finally Chilly-V has introduced Phở into their menu as monthly special dish and we were lucky enough to try it out this month, May. They also include other noodles soup from Vietnamese as other monthly specials such as Bún Mọc or Bún Bò Huế.

By far this easily makes to top 3 Phở I have ever had in Holland. The stock is rich, freshly made and you can choose so many different cuts of beef as topping. The flavour is strongly in Southern Phở flavour though without the added sweet tastes from rock sugar which I prefer.

Chilly-V is a fresh place to check out Vietnamese food in northern Holland with simple menu full of well portioned street food from Bánh Mi (Vietnamese bagguette), Bún thịt nướng (Rice noodle with variety of grilled meat) to drinks such as Cà phê sữa đá (Iced coffee). We were still in time to try out the tasting menu with 3 dishes in bite size at only 3.95E and we ordered way more to try out as much as possible. Overall the food was extremely tasty, authentic and leave a nice after taste which tempted us to try out more food even though we were already very full.

We took a wild card for our anniversy at a lovely B&B in Geel, Belgium. This is our first time trying out this kind of arrangement in a B&B instead of hotels or rental apartments like we usual do.

De Grote Kievit is a tastefully decorated and high quality service B&B. The owners, a lovely couple, made sure we had a great stay from the start with welcoming drinks, cute gift on our bed and also details info about the area, tips where we could enjoy nice meals. We ended up having one of the most amazing dinners at the village nearby.

The highlight of the stay for us were the start of the day, the breakfasts, with such attentive and great care putting the preparation even though we were the only guests there. We enjoyed everything about it, from the delicious organic breads, high quality cold cuts, cheese to the homemade jam and even had a treat having homemade pancakes the second day.

Our son turns one this month and these are the highlights of the party he had. Star was the party theme while red and white were the color of the day.

He was exclusively breastfed for the first 6 months and then we introduced solid food in BLW method.

We thought a fruit cake would be fun for his birthday and it seemed he had loads of fun picking out the pieces in cute shapes to eat. He did munch off the horse shaped melon too.

We also made mini hamburgers as snacks for guests and cupcakes with star fondant as treats.
