Now for something completely different! You may have seen that I have now started a new project, a 1982 Yamaha XS650. First step is an engine rebuild, and maybe a big bore kit. For now, getting the top end disassembled, next it’s the crank and transmission housing. Excited about this new challenge 💪🏻

Headlight now finally installed, I’ve had a nightmare with the clamps, as the shape of the GSXR forks mean the width changes!
Wiring harness is now coming on really well, last few bits to finish before the frame goes to powdercoating 😎

She’s alive! And she doesn’t sound too bad either 😉
It’s such a great feeling knowing all the hard work is paying off!
Next week, we’ll finish the seat pan and tidy a couple of things before polishing and powdercoating 💪🏻 the finish line is in sight!

Next we’ll finish the seat pan and then I can tidy some of the electronics. By the end of the week we should hear her roar to life!

Big Bertha is now free standing! Kickstand is finally in place with new springs so it actually works 😂
Now just to tidy up the wiring and get her fired up 💪🏻

When starting out building bikes last year, a goal was to be featured in , and during lockdown I achieved just that!
I can’t wait to finish Bertha and bring her to the show in person for 2021!
