‘Think big’ is a popular rallying cry in business. 
Be bigger, better, bolder... 
 
However, it’s often the opposite when it comes to your mental health. 

Work can feel overwhelming, too much to do, too little time.

Left unchecked these feelings develop into the patterns of behaviour that lead to burnout. 
 
Breaking down tasks, taking short pauses are simple ways to reduce the feelings of anxiety. 
 
✨ May is Mental Health Awareness Month. 
 
Check in with individuals in your team. 
 
Instead of asking ‘how are you?’, try ‘how’s your day started?’ 
 
Model positive behaviour by taking regular breaks, especially a screen free lunch. 
 
Take small, actionable steps that enable people to feel seen and heard. 
 
Mondays can feel overwhelming.

Only you know what you’re physically and mentally capable of in the moment. 
 
Be kind to yourself. 
Start small, start simple, just start.

Monday… 

Where are you investing your time and energy? 
 
Feels like there’s a shift from throwing AI programs at the wall and seeing what sticks, to a more rounded approach that focuses on emotional fluency as well.  
 
Human skills like influence, adaptability and decision-making will have increased value in AI-era leadership; all qualities machines can’t replicate.

These skills have a foundation that’s built on trust and psychological safety, and leading with kindness plays a key role in creating these environments. 
 
My kindness prompt is this:

1. Where will your focus and attention be today?
Solely time based exercises or going deeper into building strong human connection with your team, peers and leadership? 
 
2: Set your intention:  
Think of a word or two to describe how this act of kindness will make you feel.  
Put it on a sticky or send yourself a meeting invite for later today as a reminder.  
 
3: Mondays set the tone for the week.   
Be kind to yourself.
