As humans, we have a hard time viewing the world from an unbiased perspective. That's because our brain is hard-wired to make quick decisions that helped our ancestors survive thousands of years ago in small hunter-gatherer tribes, but those same instincts don't serve us well in the modern world.

The moment we become aware of this phenomenon and are willing to actively identify our own biases, we can make a difference by paying attention to the moment between our stimulus and response, to take control of our outcomes systematically.

Every human being is guilty of unconscious bias, this is because the brain only takes in information that it deems important, and often misses the bigger picture.

Its hard to live in a world that moves as quickly as ours today. When we stop projecting onto people and simply see them, we open our hearts to new opportunities.

In this article I point out how unconscious bias affects us and why we need awareness to improve the way we see and interact with the world. I hope it adds value.
