Event recap: booked & busy 🚀

Business has been keeping us busy at Capital C. And we wouldn’t have it any other way. From international conferences and corporate gatherings to industry networking events, creative sessions and community drinks. Our spaces have welcomed companies, professionals and ideas from across industries and borders.

A few highlights? We welcomed Kinly, Netflix Nederland L'Oréal Professionnel Paris Chubb Group, Rabobank CTO Craft and TREASURY 360°, hosted creative gatherings like Art of Luxury. But also events hosted by our community like workshops by Female x Finance and Dag van de Audio by Adformatie and CMO Retail Day by Sijthoff 🗓️

Renovation: how it started + how it’s going 👀 🌷

You might not recognise us soon... In a good way! The renovation at Capital C Bloemenmarkt is officially underway. Last week, HEINZEL | DE VRIES walked our team through the vision behind the new look. Now we’re moving from plans to paint, starting with the pantries.

New colours. New materials. Better spaces. And, for now, a healthy amount of construction dust. It’s all part of turning Bloemenmarkt into an even better place to work, meet and grow, right in the heart of Amsterdam. The renders are becoming reality, one coat of paint at a time.

Connections, served over brunch with identity.vc 🦄 Backing LGBTQ+ Entrepreneurs x Capital C Amsterdam | B Corp™️ 🏳️‍🌈

First edition and hopefully the first of many! Last Thursday, we brought together q***r founders, entrepreneurs and the wider startup community at Capital C Bloemenmarkt for our very first Q***r Founders Brunch - Tech Edition. A morning filled with honest conversations, fresh perspectives and connections that go beyond the business card.

Three founders took the stage to share their experiences, challenges and insights on building something of their own:
→ Dima Abramov – Co-founder at Dmitrij Abramov
→ Stefan – Founder at GetVenta.ai
→ Mare Santema – Co-founder at Opening doors for social good.

Different journeys, shared ambitions and conversations that deserve more room at the table. Because building a business is one thing, but building a network where you feel seen, supported and empowered makes all the difference.

Looking back on the first of many After Hours 🍻

What do you with a new location that’s still under construction? Right, invite everyone over!

For one night, Capital C Bloemenmarkt traded renovation mode for After Hours. Our new landmark location on the Singel canal filled up with (future) tenants, neighbours, partners, friends and plenty of new faces.

Oedipus Brewing took care of the drinks. The people took care of the atmosphere. Between full glasses, new introductions and conversations that lasted well past the first round, we got a pretty good preview of what this place will feel like once the doors officially open.

Turns out you don’t need finished walls to start building a community! Thanks to everyone who joined our pre-opening party and made our first After Hours at Bloemenmarkt one to remember.

Celebrating a milestone ✨🥂 Certified with a Captial C 💎

The Diamantbeurs was once a place where value was measured in diamonds. Today, we give value a broader meaning. We’re proud to share that Capital C Amsterdam is officially a Certified B Corporation™️.

Since transforming Amsterdam’s former Diamond Exchange into Capital C Amsterdam, our ambition has been to create lasting value for the businesses, people and communities around us. Through entrepreneurship and creativity, but also through the choices we make for our buildings, our partners and the city we are part of.

From integrated solar cells, a green roof and circular materials to monitoring and reducing energy, water and waste. Beyond our buildings, this value is created through our community and collaborations with social, cultural and business partners across Amsterdam. From opening our spaces to initiatives and collaborations with partners such as Knowledge Mile Amsterdam , Stagepact, Make-A-Wish Nederland and the Het Amsterdam Diner

This milestone deserves a big round of applause for 👏🏽 She guided the entire B Corp process from start to finish alongside her day-to-day role at Capital C. It has been an extensive certification journey. We simply wouldn’t be celebrating this milestone without her. B Lab Benelux: thank you for your guidance throughout the process and for continuing to challenge businesses to turn positive impact into practice.

Becoming B Corp Certified is recognition of that ambition and another step in where we want to go next. It’s about raising the bar for us and our industry. As well as an important framework to keep us on the right track moving forward.

We’ve officially started the transformation of Capital C Bloemenmarkt, our second location in the heart of Amsterdam. And if you know Capital C, you know a new look is only the beginning. We’re creating a workplace around how people and businesses actually work, connect and grow.

🏗️ As Koen Leenders puts it: “We want to create a place that gives businesses the right setting, opportunities and network to take their next step.” Together with Heinzel de Vries, we’re bringing the most important ingredient of the Capital C DNA to our new location: creativity, with a Capital C. Tinka and Barbara, thank you for giving Capital C another place to call home.
