Last Friday, we said goodbye to 2025 in full disco glam at Effectory HQ! 🪩✨
 
Sparkly dresses, shiny shirts, and enough mirror balls to light up the whole city of Amsterdam. We started with a long festive lunch, then moved on to dancing, games, and a karaoke afterparty. 💃
 
Some colleagues brought out hidden musical talent and hit notes nobody saw coming. 🎤
 
On Monday, there was still glitter all over the office. Worth it. ✨
 
Huge thanks to Juliette, Jennifer, Céline, Bart, Orla, Isabelle, and Lausanne for organizing, and to all Effectorians for bringing their most shiny selves to work all year! 💛

Okay, HR, your 2025 Wrapped is in!

This year, you trusted us with 1 million employee data points across Europe from nearly 3,200 surveys across hundreds of European organizations.

What stood out:
🔹 Almost all organizations we work with are going through change.
🔹 Engagement stayed about the same as last year.
🔹 Fewer people would tell a friend, “You should work here.”
🔹 Many people say their workload is (too) high.
🔹 One in four employees already has an eye on the job market.

Think of these findings as your conversation starter for 2026: where do you need to protect your people, where do you need to challenge your leaders, and where do you need to say “okay, this has to change”?

What happens when you lock the Effectory crew inside the NEMO Science Museum for a whole day? ✨

🧪 Experiments. Laughter. A Lego kart race that got way too competitive.

Big Day is the moment we look forward to all year at Effectory, and it never disappoints. It’s our yearly tradition where Amsterdam and Munich teams come together to connect, celebrate, and try something new. This year’s theme was 'Experiment for Success,' and we took that seriously!

👫 People Bingo = chaotic fun and new connections
🎭 Improv show = proof that “winging it” can actually work
💬 Honest talks = stronger bonds
🚗 Lego kart race = creativity under pressure (and plenty of collusion)

We wrapped it all up with a sunset on the museum’s rooftop. Bright colors, big laughs, and memories we’ll be talking about until next year. ☀️

According to IPPR, UK employees now lose the equivalent of 44 days of productivity a year by working while sick. 🤒 That's up from 35 days in 2018.

The cost of employee sickness to businesses has risen by £30 billion since 2018. Only £5 billion of that comes from more sick days; the other £25 billion is the hidden cost of presenteeism, where people keep working despite being unwell.

And this isn’t just a UK problem. Across Europe, studies consistently show that presenteeism outweighs absenteeism in its impact on productivity and wellbeing.

This isn’t resilience. It slows recovery, spreads illness, and reduces performance across the organization.

For HR professionals in Europe, the real challenge isn’t cutting absence. It’s creating a culture where recovery is respected and wellbeing is valued as part of productivity.
