On , it’s all about raising global awareness and encouraging action to protect our environment. Through partnerships to create maximum impact, the Brunel Foundation is on a mission to spark curiosity and creativity in children, introducing them to the exciting world of renewable energy, future industries, and the jobs of tomorrow. One of these initiatives is . Last week, we had the privilege of hosting an inspiring event focused on innovation and sustainability.

The three winning teams from the 2026 FIRST LEGO League NL finals claimed their prize, offered by the Brunel Foundation: an exciting HydrogenAlpha Masterclass at the Koninklijke NLR Living Lab! The students explored the world of hydrogen and sustainable aviation, discovered future technologies, and took part in an interactive aircraft noise experiment in NLR’s simulation and VR environment. This gave them first-hand insight into the challenges and opportunities of creating quieter and more sustainable aviation ✈️

With curious minds, sharp questions, and great teamwork, these young innovators showed exactly why the future of sustainability is in good hands.

Good conversations, new connections, and actually getting out there to do something — that’s what made the Corporate Foundations Event hosted by Vattenfall Foundation NL such a great day.

After sharing ideas and experiences throughout the day, we jumped on the canals in Amsterdam with for a plastic fishing session. The and Vattenfall Foundation naturally connect around the same goal: helping declutter the environment. Different backgrounds, same drive to make a positive impact.

We had a special present made for organizer Ronald Smit: an upcycled bag by Atelier h., made from old materials from when Brunel and Vattenfall were partners supporting the team together. A reminder that old stories, collaborations, and materials can always find a new purpose and continue creating impact.
