LERU Bright Conference 2012

LERU Bright Conference 2012 'Networks!', the LERU Bright Conference 2012, brings together students from Europe's universities to explore the challenges of complex interactions.

Protest movements or genetics, ant colonies or the Internet - the world is networked. Under the title 'Networks!', the LERU Bright Conference 2012 brings together students from Europe's top research universities to explore the challenges of complex interactions. It is founded on the idea that networks have common properties, no matter where they appear – in chemistry just as well as in economics o

r communication. The conference celebrates interdisciplinarity in working groups on fundamental questions in science, society and humanities. They range from the abstract 'are networks better at adapting to change?' to applied policy discussions on net neutrality. In keynotes, speakers from academia, politics, and business introduce big ideas about the networked world. At Bright 2012, students will be introduced to an inspiring frame for thinking about their disciplines and beyond. Please visit our website for more information: www.uva.nl/bright2012

Hello Brighters! We are currently working on the conference proceedings. If your working group has not submitted their summary yet, please do so today.

Also, those of you that need a certificate to show to your university for a travel costs reimbursement, please send us an e-mail and we will arrange to send it to you later this week.

Dear Brighters, as the organizing team we would like to thank you one last time for making this conference successful and fun. You inspired us and we very much enjoyed the opportunity to network! Our compliments go out to all participants and especially the chairs.

We have a few last notes:
- Please submit your working group summaries to us in the beginning of next week. We will compile them and send you the proceedings by e-mail.
- We will also contact you for an evaluation, so please think about your personal reflections and any ideas you might have!
- Don't forget our network on a more professional platform: http://www.linkedin.com/groups?gid=4543982&trk=hb_side_g
- If you have any photos that you wish to share with all other participants, feel free to contact us for publication here.

We hope you have arrived, or will arrive, home safely and look back positively on an eventful week!
Your organizing team,
Steven, Simon, Merijn, Marianna, Michiel, and Djuna
