The Chouinard family, the owner of Patagonia, was all over the news in recent weeks. The story is well known: Patagonia is now owned by a trust that ensures that every activity and total profit, currently about a hundred million dollars a year, is devoted to the fight against climate change.

Is that necessary? Yes, that is essential. We need more perspective and dialogue about change, especially within organizations. It is time for action. And that is possible. Shall we?

In February 2017, Fay was born. Fay, like so much in life, was quite unexpected. And she is fantastic. She makes a major contribution to our organization: Fay is our leifmotif. She shows us that things can and should be done differently.

We’re pretty sure that she will ask us in 2030: “What have you done to make a difference?” We will tell her that we have made a big difference. That we changed what we could. In our organization and beyond.

We'll tell Fay that we tried, with everything we had. And the great thing is: we are far from the only ones with that answer.

The next generation will look back at the choices we make today. That creates responsibility. Decisions about sustainability, biodiversity, circularity, energy, migration and polarization lie all on our shoulders.

Can we make a difference? Yes, we can! As a person, employee, employer or executive, you are the one who decides about left or right. About silence or action. You have a huge impact. You can create change. Shall we?

”If recession, then unemployment.” It is a golden rule that has applied to our western society for decades. Until today. More and more organizations are desperately searching for new hires. We see recruitment campaigns intensify, recruiters hiring recruiters, and job offers competing on bonuses and company cars (yes, including the meeting at the dealer, to take it home immediately after signing…).
