AI news on our ! 🎶🚀
Buma/Stemra is making strides with its new Taskforce AI, focusing on ethical AI use in music and ensuring fair compensation for creators.

Some of the events that are on the horizon:
October 15: An exclusive event for our boards and representatives to explore AI's value for members.
December 2: The “AI & the Music Industry” conference in Hilversum, featuring knowledge-sharing, challenges, and networking.

Throwback to IMPF Global Music Summit in Palma, Mallorca! With many great talks, panels, meetings and overall great people, Edith had a great time once again. ☀️

She met with the lovely people of Pen Music Group USA; Michael Eames, Nikki Discola and Iris Castro. Their writer Max Cinnamon participated in the writingcamp. ✍️

On top of that, it was great talking with Alkistis who was there together with Irina from Greece representing Musou Music Group.

Dave Serras Pereira of Unison hosted a nice IMPF industry friends dinner, which was delightful.

CEO of BMI (American equivalent to Buma) Mike O'Neill had an interesting speech. We find it an interesting fact that at BMI, they don't have a supervisory board like we do at Buma.

Finally, Edith attended the key note speech by president of NMPA: national music publishers association of America. He gave an impressive speech about their ongoing struggle to protect our rights. He warned us publishers and singer/songwriters to stand together and hold our backs straight in the struggle for transparency and fair remuneration for all creative work in the future.

To close off, thanks to Terri Nelson Carpenter, Reel Muzik Werks, Marion Bellahsen of France Medias Monde, Buma/Stemra and the entire Salt team for the great talks. Until next time, IMPF! 🎶

Together with Public Audio we hosted a writing sessions and drinks last Wednesday during ADE, co-funded by IMPF and Creative Europe. Take a look at the aftermovie! 🍻💛

During the day, a few writers we invited sat together with the Public Audio producers to work on multiple tracks for Passa Sports; make a theme song that'll make you want to 'Beat Your Best'. The resulting two songs both pack a punch and fit the branding perfectly.

To close down the day, the Public Audio garden turned into a place of great talks and nice drinks with fellow music industry professionals. Thanks everyone for joining us 🙏🎶

Edith was honored to attend the joint celebration of 40 years of Auteursrechtbelangen and 25 years of BREIN at the Royal Theatre in The Hague. A special highlight was seeing Tim Kuik, recently knighted by the mayor of Almere for his exceptional work with , pictured here with his wife and daughter.

Additionally, Dirk Visser engaged in insightful discussions with authors Annemarie van Toorn, Martijn David, Otto Volgenant, Wirt Soetenhorst, Margriet Koedooder, Marcel de Zwaan, Elles Masselink, Renske Hendriksen, and Bertil van Kaam about the Transparency Bundle. This special edition, published by Boom Juridisch for the occasion, explores fair compensation and transparency in exploitation contracts and will be available to our members soon.

We also appreciated the presence of Fred Teeven and Erwin Angad-Gaur, co-chairs of the Federatie , whose leadership has been instrumental over the years. We have immense respect for Tim and were delighted to reconnect with everyone.
