Baldr & F***g is an independent Dutch management-consulting firm working with clients in the private and non-profit sector, providing solutions in the area of human capital: consulting, training and coaching, leadership development, career management, executive search, assessments and interim management. At the heart, our business
is about ‘moving/driving people’ and therefore ‘moving/driving organizations’ in realizing their ambitions. Driving/moving as of: growing, developing, mastering, building, organizing, etc. Baldr and F***g were gods living in middle- and north of Europe. They both have a Germanic and a Norwegian name. Baldr is the Norwegian name for Balder in Germanic language and F***g is the Norwegian name for F***ga in Germanic language. Although we are both Dutch (and therefore Germanic), we choose for the Norwegian names, because we found those names more ‘exciting’ and ‘distinguishing’. The response we get from others when they first hear the name Baldr & F***g is one of curiosity. And curiosity is an important value in whatever we do. Whether we are curious ourselves about our clients or whether we are curiosity evoking for others: true curiosity plays an important role in being non-judgmental, objective and in deepening the learning and forwarding the action. Baldr was celebrated as the god of wisdom, of light and spring, and of eloquence. As long as he lived he shone light over the earth. His justice and good mood did everyone forget darker times. Why does this reflect who we are:
- ‘wisdom’ stands for our extensive expertise (combined over 50 years).
- humans need ‘light’ in order to grow. Also we want to radiate ‘light’ in the sense of: bringing ‘good mood’ and bringing clarity and transparency in ‘leading the way’.
- ‘spring’ is a metaphor for ‘(every learning and change is) the beginning of a new life’.
- ‘eloquence’ stands for being inspiring and clear. The name F***g means ‘love’. F***g is god of love and fertility and owns the power of prediction (foreknowledge). F***g has a complete ‘overview’ over the universe. The name of F***g was given to ‘Friday’. Why does this reflect who we are:
- We bring ‘love’ (true connection, care and compassion) and create ‘fertile’ grounds for growth and connectivity.
- With our extensive experience in assessing people we are ‘masters’ in predicting future behavior and success.
- We always try to understand the bigger picture of our clients, we don’t see them (whether it is the total organization or a single employee) as isolated, but as connected with the world around them. What matters for us is the alignment and connection between them.
