Driving ban dates across Europe have been confirmed.

Several countries have now confirmed their 2026 summer driving ban calendars: fixed Saturday restrictions on top of the standing Sunday and public holiday bans that run across Europe.

For cold chain shippers, each restricted day is a planning variable, not just for the transport schedules, but for the condition of the cargo itself.

A refrigerated truck held at a border in July heat faces very different conditions from one that remains on the move.

Knowing the calendar in advance is the first step. Knowing the shipment maintained the correct temperature throughout its journey gives you peace of mind that delays didn't become product losses.

As summer driving bans hold trucks stationary across Europe, we've broken down what's already confirmed for 2026, what's still to be confirmed, and what it actually means for the cargo inside.

There's a common assumption in cold chain logistics: if the refrigeration unit is running, the cargo is fine. In summer, that assumption gets tested more than any other time of year.
