"Who knows why people do what they do?

What matters is that they do it, and organizations can track, measure and use it like never before. However, as standalone this huge amount of information has no value. Data by itself has no value. It’s the ever-changing ecosystem surrounding data that gives it meaning.
In order to capture value from the obtained information, companies will have to deploy new technologies (storage, computing, analytical software, etc.) and techniques.
Legacy systems and incompatible standards too often prevent the integration of data and the more sophisticated analytics that actually create value.
