The European Design Centre (EDC) with offices in ‘s Hertogenbosch and Eindhoven is a creative research lab operating at the intersection of ICT, creativity and design. Trainee in European Project Management
Who should apply?
The job would suit someone who just graduated (University of Higher Vocational Education level) in the fields of Project Management, (Technical) Business Administration or Strategic Communication. The right candidate has practical knowledge of, or affinity with project management, particularly in international contexts, including project communication and administration and the management of multidisciplinary teams. You would be responsible for project planning, project ex*****on, post processing and project status reporting. You would also be responsible for communication needs identification, delivery to project support and ex*****on of reconciled communication measures and you are also having the responsibility for the project team. The successful applicant should be able to work accurately and precisely and have an excellent eye for detail. You will be supervised by a senior staff member but are expected to work autonomously on an operational level. You will be trained on the job to grow to the position of junior project manager. Affinity with cultural and creative industries is considered a plus.
What will be the core responsibilities of this traineeship?
- Project set-up and milestone definition. Allocation of team members, responsibilities and timeframe.
- Ex*****on of project in time, budget and quality as described in the project plan.
- Administration and reporting to project assigner (European Commission).
- Creating tools for the project.
- Promote projects within international networks and at public events.
- Secure the completion of all set deliverables, setup of contingency actions.
- Guarantee the adherence to technical, economical and quality parameters.
- Knowledge management & project documentation.
Required education and skills
- The selected applicant should have a University of Higher Vocational Education level in the fields of Project Management, (Technical) Business Administration or Strategic Communication.
- Experience in cultural and creative industries would be considered a plus.
- The applicant must master English and preferably a second European language (Dutch preferred).
- The applicant must feel comfortable with deadlines, stress management and public appearances and presentations.
- Experience in Project Management or a comparable position will be experienced as a plus.
Benefits
During the first year of traineeship you will receive a minimum salary while you develop the skills and knowledge connected to the role of Junior Project Manager. Upon successful completion the right candidate can be offered a position in our company.
