For the >Archive of the Future< Envisionaire Emma Wessel worked with embroidery specialist Frank de Wind to develop their Future Nets research - an exploration formed on the basis of an earlier collaboration in 2018, in which they applied fillers and water-soluble foil⁠

For the >Archive of the Future< envisionaire Jos Klarenbeek partnered with master weaver Stef Miero to explore the effects of tension and rigidness in woven textiles. ⁠

By testing a variation of yarns and alternating surface tensions, their research shows the constructive potential of woven fabrics. ⁠

A material’s sensory experience is shaped by various parameters of which texture and color are most influential. But to what extent is a material’s appearance dependent on these characteristics? Does the absence of color enhance or degrade a material’s tactile qualities and haptic features?

Fluent UI by VVAND XYZ & Microsoft is kind of a collection of UX frameworks for creating web and mobile apps that share code, design, and interaction behavior. It’s a new approach to how Microsoft works across disciplines and product teams to deliver more seamless experiences that feel natural on all devices.

Together with the experts of TextielLab, Envisions has dived into the diverse world of textiles to collaboratively explore experimental approaches to crafts and disciplines.⁠
⁠
Envisionaire Robin Pleun Maas and TextielLab's Sarena Huizinga share a specialisation in knitting. For the >Archive of the Future< they embarked on technical knitting research into the third dimension - triggered by textured samples in the TextielMuseum's archive.⁠

PET Felt industries are dealing with a significant of residual though valuable material during production. The aim of Zero Burn is to design a new material suitable for the circulair economy.

Envisions has been invited by Zero Burn to investigate this material, combined with other local residual flows in Turkey.

And.. you can get a sneak peek of this project in real life! Visit Material District in Utrecht, 5 till 7 April 2022⁠
