A good example from the last post ago about "Thesis - antithesis - synthesis". ⁠

Thesis: A lot of people think that email marketing is not working anymore. ⁠
Antithesis: However not all email marketing is not working.⁠
Synthesis: Relational email marketing in combination with promotional email marketing brings great ROI for companies. ⁠

When I graduated from school, I continued my education at the best university of Russia (Moscow State University). I studied Political Psychology and Sociology.⁠

During my studies there, I was having a lot of classes in Philosophy. I can't say that I enjoyed it very much at that time but now I feel very special that I carry this knowledge. I think I didn't enjoy it because I couldn't imagine where I could apply this knowledge. ⁠

When I started writing content, I started seeing the connection between Philosophy, Psychology and the content. ⁠

Today, I read a blog post from Animals. They wrote about using Dialectic to strengthen ideas in copywriting. They advise to use the special process to create inevitability when writing a copy: Thesis, Antithesis and Synthesis. ⁠

Thesis: you present the status quo, the viewpoint that is currently accepted and widely held.⁠
Antithesis: Articulate the problems with the thesis.⁠
Synthesis: Share a viewpoint (a modified thesis) that resolves the problems. ⁠

This structure can be used while writing newsletters. It instantly captures attention. It did capture my attention despite my endless to-do list!⁠

What is an email marketing?⁠

I hear a lot of misconceptions about email marketing. Company owners think that "email marketing" is just sending out newsletters with company promotions or updates once or twice a month. ⁠

Email marketing is much more than that! ⁠

It is also about delivering value to your prospects by educating them about your offer, by getting acquainted with your company. By constantly reminding about yourself and showing that you are the only company which is eager to make your prospect's lives better.⁠

Email marketing is about building relationships with your prospects and maintaining relationships with your clients/customers. It is also about moving your prospects along the customer value journey and turning them into clients/customers and promoters of your brand. ⁠

Business has long ago become more than just a 1-time transaction. ⁠

Helping = working together, instead of telling what and how to do.

For the past half a year, I was acting as a boss. I was meeting with my clients and I was telling them what they should do with their business and how they should do it. I heard from them similar sentences at the end of our conversations: “You put me to work”, “You give me tasks”.

At first, I thought it was a good thing, I was creating focus for them and kept them accountable. It worked in the end, but I left them struggling alone. I threw them into the water, explained what they need to do to swim and pointed into the direction they need to arrive.

Luckily, my clients are strong people and they managed to arrive at the surface safely, but I don’t want to be that kind of person. I don’t want to be a boss, I want to be a leader.

I want to be a person, who explains what needs to be done, how it needs to be done and does it together with a client. I want to be a person, who not only “rips off the plaster from a painful spot” and tells to wait through pain and walks away, but the one who sits through pain and helps to ease the suffering by taking care.

That is why, I want to do a challenge to help a business.

Have you ever had this feeling when you don't feel comfortable with a client?

You do everything right, you say the right things but something is off. And you feel drained after the interaction.

I had it. I spoke up. I explained myself. I asked for a change. And i was getting what I wanted. But something was still wrong. I didn't get any satisfaction from the relationship with a client. I felt "used". I knew that this was not how it should have been. No one was wrong in this situation, my client was just not my target client.

As Joe Polish says, business should be E.L.F. (Easy, Lucrative and Fun), but not H.A.L.F. (Hard, Annoying, Lame, and Frustrating). I want to strive for E.L.F.

One of the parts of E.L.F. business is to know your target audience. To know who you can benefit and who can benefit you. And have more of clients like this!
