Athens, old friends and the people behind the world’s pipelines
This year, I attended my 10th IPLOCA convention in Athens. IPLOCA brings together companies from the international pipeline construction industry.
Athens made this convention unforgettable. Standing at the Acropolis, surrounded by so much history and looking out over the city, was a special moment. It was also very, very busy. I suspect the ancient Greeks had a little more room to move around than we did! 😉
We also explored Ancient Corinth and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of Aegina Island. One of my highlights was hearing Christian Kromme speak about human-centred AI and the importance of keeping people at its heart.
And, as always, the best part was the people: catching up with old friends, meeting new ones and enjoying conversations that felt as if we had only just seen each other.
