Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, loved ones, and colleagues during this difficult time. May he rest in peace, and may his memory be honored with respect.

It is with deep regret that we announce the sudden passing of our crew member, colleague and friend, Jonathan Gallo, who sadly died on 22 August 2025, aged 42.

He was a well experienced inland sailor and spent his working life on the water, where his skill, composure and, above all, his endlessly kind and benevolent nature, were so valued by everyone who had the pleasure of working with him.

Jonathan was not only known for his outstanding work ethic and skill, but for his humanity, his generosity and his warm, open heart.

He was cherished by colleagues, treasured by friends, and deeply loved by his family and his passing leaves a silence on the river.

Nonetheless, his memory, of laughter and labour shared, loyalty given, and lives enriched, will remain in our hearts and minds.

Rest in peace, dear friend. You will be missed.

Starting the year strong...💪

Cristina, from the World Wide Labour Union, along with Sir Arie, kicked off the new year by visiting our Indonesian crew, Amir and Erfan.

As you can see it was a cosy chat onboard the vessel with all the Christmas lights still up! 🎄

They chatted about the opportunities available with Portuguese and German visas, as well as the current state of the market. ⚓

And one thing's for sure: the outlook is promising for AXXAZ and our incredible crew!
