Digging through the archive and found this gem — Esso headquarters, 2016.

A full-wall installation with Esso Synergy branding. And apparently we did this on the way to a holiday, because Anita was on site helping out — which almost never happened. Neither did Yentl showing up for many installs, for that matter.

Everyone pitching in when it counts. That's what makes a job like this one stick with you.

In the Netherlands, a new baby means beschuit met muisjes. A rusk topped with pink anise sprinkles. Simple, old, and somehow still very much alive as a tradition.

When Yentl's daughter was born, the hallway ceiling became a lightbox full of muisjes. It was the right image for that moment.

But the ceiling changes — with the seasons, with celebrations, with whatever the year brings. That's what makes it different from a paint colour or a print. It's a Matrix Frame lightbox, built into the ceiling, and the image is just the beginning.

Before restoration, BURGY Bouwbedrijf photographs everything. This ceiling — crumbling plaster, exposed brick, years of history — was one of those images.

It's now a custom LED Matrix Frame, mounted on the ceiling of their meeting room in Leiden. Made to measure for the space, lit from within.

Two crafts, one room. We think it works.

We traded the workshop for a racetrack last October.

The Matrix Frame team — Yentl, Joeri, Twan, Jytte, and some of our best temporary reinforcements — headed to Leiden for the very first NK Kamelenrace in the Netherlands. Mobile Light Box had skin in the game: camel number 1, proudly branded and ready to run.

Did we win? Let's just say we're better at building lightboxes than picking race winners.

Fifty years together — as a couple (over 50 years), as founders, as the driving force behind everything they built.

André and Anita America started in graphic print half a century ago and never looked back. The industry changed, they changed with it, and somehow the energy is still the same. This year, we celebrate 50 years alongside them. 🥂
