🌍 AN OPEN LETTER TO 8 BILLION PEOPLE: What We Have All Forgotten
Right now, as you read these words, someone on the other side of the world is celebrating the birth of a child. Someone else is mourning the loss of a loved one. Someone is worrying about how to pay their bills, and someone else is simply staring at the ceiling, unable to sleep, feeling their life has no meaning.
The outer details of your lives are very different. But your inner reality is exactly the same.
If we took all the wisdom of the world, all the literature, all the discoveries in psychology and philosophy, and extracted their core essence, three fundamental truths would remain. They belong to all of you, no matter who you are or where you are right now.
1. Your pain does not isolate you. It is your bridge.
When you are in pain—when you feel lonely, rejected, tired, or defeated—your mind lies to you. It says: "You are the only one failing like this. Something is wrong with you." This is the greatest illusion of humanity. That feeling of emptiness or anxiety you feel at 3 AM is the exact same feeling that Roman emperors felt two thousand years ago, and it is the exact same feeling that millions of other people across the planet are feeling right now. Your pain is not proof that you are broken. It is proof that you are a living human being. It is the very thread that connects you to all the other 8 billion people. You have never, not for a single second, been alone.
2. You do not need to earn the right to exist.
We have created a world where we are constantly running, trying to prove our worth. We measure ourselves by our achievements, appearance, money, status, or the approval of other people. It is an exhausting race that is impossible to win.
Here is the truth, confirmed by the very nature of the universe: you do not need to do anything to be worthy. You were born with absolute, undeniable value, just as a tree, an ocean, or a star does not need to earn its value. Stop apologizing for existing, and stop punishing yourself for not being perfect. Your existence is already enough. You are enough. Right in this very moment.
3. Meaning is not a grand destiny. It is a daily choice.
Billions of people torment themselves looking for their "great life mission." They wait for someone from above to tell them why they are here.
However, all the wisdom of the world says: meaning is not a hidden treasure you need to find. Meaning is what you create yourself through your small actions. Meaning is the smile you give to a tired shop worker. Meaning is finding the strength to feed your dog after a hard day. Meaning is the decision to be a little gentler with yourself today. The world is sustained not by grand heroes, but by billions of small, quiet acts of kindness and endurance that you perform every day.
Drop your shoulders.
Inhale. Exhale.
You do not need to save the whole world, and you do not need to be perfect. You are part of a huge, complex, and wonderful human family. Sometimes you will make mistakes, sometimes you will feel pain, but you have the strength to keep going. Look at the person next to you—on the street, at work, at home. They are fighting the exact same invisible battle as you are.
Let us be a little more forgiving to one another. And first of all—to ourselves.
