The company is one of Europe's largest producers of high-quality recovered raw materials, serving the European market from small plastics processing companies to major multinationals. For over
fifty years, our three-generation family business has been weaving a rich tapestry of history in transforming plastic waste into high-quality recycled raw materials. The company's origins date back to 1960, when Gertie Morssinkhof and his brother Jan Morssinkhof jointly founded Gebr. At the time, the region was known for its many jobs in the textile industry; Gebr. Morssinkhof worked for major players in the industry. In the 1960s, Gertie also came into contact with an emerging industry, the production of plastic products. Gertie saw so many challenges in this industry that he decided to focus on it. After a brief start in Zieuwent, Gertie settled in Lichtenvoorde. When the first oil crisis occurred in the early 1970s, Gertie developed the idea of recycling plastics. Since then, Gertie has become a major pioneer in the world of plastic recycling. Starting in the 1990s, his sons Eric, Rolf and Stefan gradually took over the business and developed the company, soon creating a reputable European player in the industry. In the spirit of Gertie, they have continued the company's operations, with values such as creativity and cooperation playing a significant role. Today, our approach to the market continues to be based on the fundamental principles of founder Gertie Morssinkhof: "The processing of plastics into high-quality recycled material is only economically viable if the supply is available in sufficient quantity and quality, and at the same time the recycled material produced has sufficient application possibilities." Ingka Investments (IKEA) has been a minority shareholder in Morssinkhof - Rymoplast since 2017. Ingka Investments' participation is not only a strategic financial investment in a growing industry, but also to support a sector that helps build a sustainable future. Our group has 11 plants in Europe, each with specific operations. The companies buy well-sorted post-consumer plastic waste and scrap streams from collection systems and clean industrial waste from the plastics processing industry. This waste is processed into high-quality raw materials for an international customer base ranging from small plastics processing companies to major multinationals. The company's main operations focus on recycling four types of plastics: HDPE, LDPE, PET and PP. As a partner in plastics recycling, we work with organizations to optimize plastics cycles. As a supplier of high-quality recovered raw materials, we enable manufacturers to produce more sustainable plastic products and packaging.
