We are Anja, Michelle, Jil and Noah - In other words: the young, innovative and creative team 'VIEchange' competing at the EMCup 2017. What is the EMCup? "Catch me if you can - Stay in love" is this years topic. We, the millennial generation (born between 1980-2000) are creative, innovative, people and first and foremost passionate job hoppers. New ideas, striving for more, the love for variation

dominate ideas of work. VIE change and this challenges business. Finding ideas on how to catch millenial talents and make them stay in love with hospitality and companies will be our job. The EMCup is a place where representative students of the best European Hotel Management Schools, as well as important players of the tourism industry, are exchanging ideas, visions, competing and network. We proudly represent Austria and our University of Applied Sciences "FH Wien WKW". With this annual competition students get the chance to make a difference with their vision and ideas, and get challenged to think out of the box about a real life topic. The goal of the EMCup is to create and build long-lasting relationships, provide hands on experience, open up the horizon for education, build a bridge between schools and companies and connect young professionals to the industry. We still can't believe that this actually happened yesterday night and express the feelings we have about it.
We won the EMCup for our university FHWien der WKW - Institut für Tourismus Management!
Over and over people have kept asking us what the EMCUP and VIEchange is in the sense of "Was ist eigentlich dieses VIEchange???" 😃

It is a great competition in hospitality organised and attended by hundreds of inspiring people that pushes you out of your comfort zone and makes you get the best out of yourself!
And VIEchange, well, we are a team that understood that what matters is the team spirit, an out of the box approach and believing and embracing the individual talents each member got. Our idea was to introduce the erasmus concept into the hospitality world, by creating a network between individual hotels, to foster employee exchanges beyond a company's border because we believe that if you employ millennials and want to make them stay in love with your company it's best to:
Let the birds spread their wings and fly and they will come back home!

Thank you to our wonderful coach Andrew Pullen, to our faculty for giving their students the opportunity to participate in something as great as the EMCup (that's hell of applied learning) and YOU ALL for your immense support that even put us on top of the social media competition, and the organisers and business jury and the other great and inspiring teams!
