The final details are coming together on Enksail Orion #2.

From removing the protective tape, mounting tables and hanging the bookshelf to placing the mattresses, cleaning, and finishing all the small details that make the yacht feel complete; we are putting the final touches on board!

Launch day. In route from Trondheim to Lofoten with sunny skies and 15-32knots of wind behind us doing 9.2knots. Temperature 11. Feels like 4. Can’t ask for more!

Ronald and his son Hidde - the second generation of Enksail Yachts - watch proudly as the Enksail Orion 49 number 2 touches the water for the first time.

Last week, we shared the arrival of the third Enksail Orion 49 under construction at our yard. Now, Orion 49 number 2 has been launched.

The final steps are still ahead: stepping the mast, finishing the last details, and then she will be almost ready to make her first miles.

A proud moment for our team and another special step in the Enksail Orion series. ⛵️

We are excited to welcome the newest Enksail Orion 49 to our yard in Makkum.

With the aluminium hull now in place, the next phase begins: outfitting, finishing and bringing this yacht to life.

It started as a dream in Makkum: the Enksail Halcyon.

We've been building sailing yachts since 1999. Over the years, we kept hearing the same things from the people who sail them, what worked, what didn't, what they wished they had. Slowly, that became a boat we wanted to build for ourselves.

The Enksail Halcyon is that boat.

Aluminium, 50 to 80 feet, designed with Naval Architect Sealevel. A galley in the deckhouse so you can cook with a view. Big hull windows and spacious owner's suite where you wake up looking at the water.

Every lesson from every boat we've built is somewhere included.

"Grande Vivace" is hull number one, her name chosen by her Dutch owners. We're already looking forward to building the next.
