Meet our Zero Hero ⚡ Max Schoenmakers
A proud Zero rider since 2022, Max has clocked an incredible 160,000 km on his SR/S - that’s an average of 250 km every single day.
The result? A massive €28,000 saved so far on fuel and maintenance costs compared to his previous combustion bikes.
Back in 2022, Motorrijders.nl featured Max, where he shared his riding journey and his passion for going electric with Zero.
“I ride between 1,000 and 1,500 km per week. With current prices, my electricity costs per week are approximately 20 euros. I should add, however, that I only charge at a 220-volt socket. I can also fast charge on the go, but I have never needed to. The total cost per km, including maintenance costs, is about 5 euro cents.”
“The Zero is my first electric motorcycle. After extensive calculations, I realised that I simply couldn't make ends meet with my mileage allowance, certainly not with the rapidly rising fuel prices. That is why I took a Zero SR/S for a few days from Moto Rotterdam (great shop!).”
“In addition, it is nice and quiet to ride. I like that, because I get between 50 and 120 phone calls every day while I’m riding. Furthermore, I don’t have to change the oil or refuel; this machine has no air or oil filters, no spark plugs, and there is only minimal wear on the brake discs and pads. You always have torque when you need it, and when necessary, you are lightning fast. On top of that, I find the looks nice, the seat comfortable, and the nicely positioned and folding mirrors very practical.”
Max’s story is just one of many proving that a 100% electric Zero motorcycle is the ultimate solution for everyday commuting.
No gears. No clutch. No fuel stops. ZERO fuel costs - just effortless, efficient, and cost-effective riding.
