Good music deserves more than a stage. It deserves a sustainable future 🌱

At Equalize the Ecosystem, we’re bringing conversations about Rotterdam’s music scene to life through music, knowledge and live performances.

🎶 Vixnde takes the stage after our first panel, while Michline Plukker & Rajiv Daryanani close the programme with a live performance. Three Rotterdam-based artists bringing their sounds and perspectives into the conversation.

🎤 Simon de Koning joins us to unpack how Sena supports musicians and producers by collecting and distributing royalties for publicly played music.

Because the future of our music scene isn't just something we talk about. It's something we create together.

Come for the conversations, stay for the music, connections and good vibes.

What does it take to build a career as an electronic music maker in Rotterdam?

On the 15th of October, we’re bringing together artists and industry professionals for two panel talks moderated by the talented Seb Harris.

We've got a panel on 'Navigating Rotterdam as an artist'. In this panel Najel Monteiro and Eddy Kennedy look at what artists need to develop and grow in the city. From affordable studios and practice spaces to accessible stages and opportunities to connect with international scenes.

The other panel is on 'Supporting artists'. Here Sanne Lola and Albert van Abbe discuss fair fees, paid opportunities, income from music use, mental health and the support artists need to build a sustainable practice.

Calling all music makers! 📣📣📣

Who gets to make music in the Netherlands, and who can afford to keep doing it!?

Our city is full of musical talent. But talent needs more than applause. It needs space to create, places to play, fair pay and the support to keep on going.

At Equalize the Ecosystem, we’re bringing the music community together to discuss what a healthier future for its creators could look like. What’s working? What’s missing? And what can we change together?

Waar lopen we tegenaan? Wat kan er anders? En welke stappen kunnen we samen zetten?

Work hard, play VR games! 👾

On a more serious note: wanneer zullen we ons event van 16 september aankondigen?

Liefs,
Team N8W8 R'dam 🌙

A new space for culture is taking shape at the former Club Blu on Prins Alexanderlaan 37.

Together with SKAR, we're looking for a collective, organisation or partnership to develop and operate a venue where culture, creativity and nightlife come together. A place that strengthens the neighbourhood, connects communities and attracts audiences from across Rotterdam with distinctive programming.
