Yesterday was truly a special day for us at Smartdc - Performance Datacenters as we celebrated National Data Center Day by giving back to our community in Rotterdam. 💚

This year, we decided to switch things up and invited a group of seniors from the Stichting Super-Actief foundation to join us. 💪

Our fantastic colleagues, Wouter Koppert and Fabian Roelofs, took the lead in teaching these lovely women about the internet and the vital role data centers play in our digital world. The seniors were eager to learn and asked many insightful questions. The highlight of the day was when they were treated to an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of our data center, where they witnessed firsthand the technology and security measures in place to ensure everything runs smoothly. 💻

The most heartwarming part of the day was coming together for a cozy coffee and cake session, where we shared stories and enjoyed each other's company. ☕

At Smartdc, we are committed to staying socially engaged and giving back to our community, particularly to our seniors. We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with them and look forward to more initiatives that deepen our community involvement. 🤝

And of course, a big thanks to the Dutch Data Center Association for organizing National Data Center Day! 🇳🇱

We are thrilled to share that Smartdc - Performance Datacenters has been nominated for the Sustainability Star award at Develop:Brighton! ⭐

Our Residual Heat Project is being recognized for its innovative use of waste heat from our servers to heat the Van Nelle Factory's offices. This initiative reduces our carbon footprint by saving up to 80% of the annual 1 million cubic meters of gas consumed by these offices. ♻️

This year, we had the amazing opportunity to welcome 23 bright young girls and provide them with hands-on workshops in coding, cybersecurity, and personal branding. They also got an exclusive tour of our data center. 🏢

Smartdc - Performance Datacenters is pleased to announce the addition of two data centers to its global footprint. With i3D.net recent integration of Ubisoft Hosting Services (UHS), Smartdc - Performance Datacenters, as the daughter company of i3D.net took over the management of two previously internal Ubisoft data centers— in Montreal, Canada and Paris, France. 🌍

The two data centers were formerly used for low-latency use cases such as gaming and the internal mission-critical systems of Ubisoft. Due to the high-performance use of these data centers in the past, the two facilities come with top-tier power, cooling and security systems. Smartdc - Performance Datacenters will be offering customized colocation solutions at both locations to provide customers the opportunity to utilize these proven systems for improved connectivity and IT infrastructure workloads.🤝

Last week Smartdc - Performance Datacenters won the Sustainability Award by Computable for our groundbreaking heat pump project! 🎉

This recognition highlights our commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility in the data center industry. Our residual heat project captures excess heat from our data center and repurposes it to heat over 100 offices in the UNESCO Heritage site, Van Nelle Fabriek. By doing so, we have saved 800.000 cubic square meters of gas and significantly reduced our carbon footprint. 🌱
