Weak Water Stream from Your Outboard?
If the water stream (tell-tale) coming out of your outboard becomes weak or stops, your engine may be overheating.
This usually happens because of: • A worn water pump impeller
• Debris blocking the water intake
• Sand or salt buildup in the cooling passages
According to the maintenance guidelines from Mercury Marine, the impeller is a critical component that circulates cooling water through the engine. When it fails, the engine can overheat quickly.
If you're already experiencing this problem, don't keep running the engine.
We supply impellers, water pump kits, and cooling system parts for many outboard models.
