Exterior Design, shape of the eye

A single request, an eye shape designed into the yacht’s profile, explored through lines, shapes and profiles.

“For me, working as a team and collaborating with my colleagues helped bring ideas together and bring the design full circle.” — Chris, Vripack

“Zero is not nothing, Zero is where everything begins” - Patrick Coote, VTNO 2025

What connects a drowning child, a thirsty crow, and the world's first renewable-energy powered sailing yacht of her size and comfort level?

Watch Patrick weave together Peter Singer's moral philosophy, Derek Parfit's collective action theory, and Aesop's ancient wisdom to reveal how SY Zero represents something far more significant than sustainable yachting.

Project Zero doesn't provide all the answers, it poses the question that changes everything:

What becomes possible when we stop asking "what's next" and start asking "what if ?"

12 minutes that will change how you think about yacht design.

Ideas transformed

Four Vripack yachts. Four WSA Voyager Award winners.

"I had to travel 40,000 miles to learn how to truly see."

After a three-year journey, DOLCE’s owner returned transformed. Shaped by star navigation with Polynesian elders, manta rays beneath plankton-lit skies, and experiences that redefined what travel means.
Latitude’s owner, Anil, explored the far edges of wilderness: 500 miles from the North Pole, 175,000 nautical miles traveled, more than 1,100 dives completed. "You don't understand wilderness until you go to the Arctic."

Zeepaard carried entire families around the globe across two circumnavigations.
Pioneer became the first yacht to navigate the Northwest Passage twice, before circumnavigating the world twenty-three times.

These journeys become possible when initial ideas are transformed through thoughtful design into achievable realities. Recognition follows experience, not the other way around.

DOLCE: 40,000 Miles of Wonder

Nine manta rays under plankton skies. Face-to-face with Komodo dragons. Star navigation lessons from Polynesian elders. Three years of extraordinary experiences.

Now nominated for the Voyager Award at the World Superyacht Awards.

When Pacific storms hit near the Galápagos, robust design kept everyone safe. When politics forced routes changes around Africa, a 6,000-mile range meant flexibility. When plans required extended stays, thoughtful layouts delivered comfort.

“I had to travel 40,000 miles to learn how to truly see.” - Owner, age 66

When plans change, great design delivers.

Best of luck at the awards this weekend, DOLCE!

A vintage-loving American owner wasn’t searching for a yacht, but a platform worth rethinking. He found it in a Doggersbank first penned by Vripack in 1968: compact, all steel, and resolutely seaworthy. A design where comfort and performance are already in rare balance.

The Vripack interior architecture and layout remain firmly unchanged. Instead of redesigning what already worked, New York–based designer Redd Kaihoi introduced a high-gloss retro layer, integrated into the original framework.

Integrity of the original design stayed central. As the owner pursued greater speed and efficiency, Vripack refined key naval architecture elements, within the yacht’s original proportions.

The result is Slow Poke: an explorer delivering the comfort of a much larger yacht, while retaining the clarity, connection and efficiency of a design built to endure.

“I’m involved in a lot of design-led projects and sit on the board of a design school, and for me, the Doggersbank is the best example of packaging design in all of yachting,” he says.

The balance between Aesthetics and technical performance

For Rinse, Naval Architect at Vripack, it started with a lifelong passion for boats and time on the water. Long before Vripack, he was already drawn to yachting.

Today, that passion drives everything he creates. Great yacht design starts with freedom, not limiting ideas, but approaching them with an open mind, from the first briefing to 3D-printed prototypes.

The challenge: balancing aesthetics and technical solutions in naval architecture.

Pioneer: Built for the Impossible

First privately owned superyacht to circumnavigate North America. Polar bears at 75 degrees North. Northwest Passage conquered twice.

Pioneer's 11,000-mile range and robust design don't just reach remote waters, they do it comfortably, safely, repeatedly.

"In the high latitudes, the boat was solid, we had no technical issues - it's just a fantastic platform," says the owner.

While other yachts turn back, Pioneer's proven seaworthiness opens Arctic Canada, Greenland, Alaska. "We're visiting places where wildlife is extremely fragile. Getting to see it now with the sense that it's fleeting truly resonates."

Pioneer: where purposeful design meets extraordinary destinations.

10 years later: When Refits work🛠

A decade ago, RH3 proved that refitting a beloved superyacht can deliver exceptional results. After sixteen Atlantic crossings, Vripack and Belgian architect Vincent Van Duysen transformed her in less time than building new.

Original character preserved, functionality enhanced, timeline accelerated.

"The collaboration delivered a yacht that retains its quality whatever the season, wherever in the world," says Joost Mertens, Vripack Vripack Senior Designer & Partner.

A decade on, RH3 shows when refits make perfect sense: proven hull, efficient timeline, bespoke results.

Where Dutch design meets American lifestyle

Vripack’s third Moonen 122 Martinique interior is penned for Moon Cane, the tenth hull currently under construction in this popular series.

The interior responds directly to the expectations and lifestyle preferences of Moonen's growing American client base.

“We’ve kept the strengths from our previous Martinique interiors but also listened to market feedback and input from Moonen’s sales team," says Vripack co-creative director Marnix Hoekstra. "It became clear that certain features, such as a walk-up bar, are non-negotiable for the American market.

Vripack introduced a walk-up bar at the main salon entranceway. Forming part of three distinct fixed-furniture pieces, including a wine cooler and fridge, while keeping key storage elsewhere.

Ceiling arches, large windows, an aft-facing bed and light ash wood bring Californian-inspired style throughout the interior, creating a calm, timeless feel.

Created in close collaboration with Moonen Yachts, the tenth Moonen 122 Martinique demonstrates how market insight and thoughtful design evolution can strengthen a successful series without compromising its identity.

At Vripack, exterior design is in the details.

Pierre's connection to the sea has shaped the way he approaches every yacht.

He embraces constraints as creative opportunities, finding solutions that balance aesthetics, functionality, and emotion.

His designs are guided by stories and feelings, sometimes inspired by music, a memory from his travels, or a fleeting moment of inspiration.

Every detail, from subtle curves to functional elements, is designed not to draw attention to itself, but to support the experience and always aiming to create a harmony for our owners whereby how the yacht makes them feel is just as important as how it is seen".
