Dutch Employers Cooperation Programme DECP

For the Dutch Employers' Cooperation Programme (DECP) and PUM it is of great importance to explore entrepreneurial ecosystems (EE), as their focus is on strengthening employer organisations in emerging countries to improve the business climate. EEs already exist in some well-established areas and sometimes grow by coincidence, but this can be influenced on purpose. Some of these well-established EEs are Brainport Industries in the Netherlands, Metropole Lille in France and Silicon Valley in California.

A team master students from the Maastricht University performed a research project. What development phases do entrepreneurial ecosystems go through? Which competencies are involved? What can DECP-PUM do to influence the growth of such systems?

STRATEGY GUIDE ON DIGITALISATION FOR EMPLOYERS’ ORGANISATIONS

DECP, PUM and NHO joined forces to develop a strategy guide on digitalisation for East African employers’ organisations. During a special online meeting, the guide was presented by the author and Digitalisation & IT expert Harm Spoor to the CEO’s of the Ugandan and Tanzanian employers’ organisations. The publication was well received by the CEO’s: “this work is timely, useful and strategic”.

DECP introduces complete new course on creating news

Objective of the course is to improve the activity on websites of employers' organisations and to be able to publish newsletters more often. In order to achieve those objectives employers' organisations have to create more relevant content. ‘Get noticed, create news’ does exactly that – help to create more relevant content that may previously have been overlooked.

Afrique de l’Ouest. Une rencontre entre amis

Le dialogue social est l’un des piliers clé du DECP. Avec une longue histoire de formations et d’ateliers au niveau national, la gestion du DECP a décidé de développer des outils pour renforcer ses partenaires au niveau sectoriel et ainsi, de mettre en pratique la concrétisation des avantages pour les entrepreneurs au niveau social et économique. Ce sont les partenaires mêmes qui doivent indiquer la valeur ajoutée d’un tel développement et des interventions qui vont avec. Voilà pourquoi le responsable de la région avait invité les partenaires de la sous-région. Cette rencontre en ligne entre amis a eu lieu vendredi le 23 juin. Il y avaient des participants du Burkina Faso, du Togo et de la Côte d’Ivoire.
