Sustainability & Longevityš„¦
For us, the focus should always be on longevity. A product made from eco-friendly materials doesnāt mean much if it breaks after just a few uses.
Our tools are designed to last, and we continuously improve them to make them even more durable. For example, we now coat our plastic components with a protective varnish. Over time, we noticed that even plastic can absorb ink, and a stained tool might make you want to replace it. After applying the varnish, we tested multiple inks, including waterproof ones, and found that they wipe off completely without leaving a trace.
What materials do we use?
Our 3D-printed products are made from PLAāa bioplastic derived from corn starch or sugarcane. It is often labeled as biodegradable, but the reality is more complex. In terms of being made from natural resources, yes, itās eco-friendly. In terms of durability, yes, itās sustainable. But if thrown into nature, how long does it take to break down?
Thatās why we donāt overproduce. We print only when thereās an order, avoiding unnecessary waste. And instead of mass production, we focus on quality and longevity, ensuring you wonāt need to replace your tools often.
The bigger pictureš
Many materials are labeled as "eco-friendly," but the reality isnāt always so simple. Take wood, for exampleāforests take decades to grow, only to be cut down again. Is mass-produced woodenware truly sustainable? Or consider paperālook into how much water is used in its production and the bleaching chemicals involved.
So when a brand claims to be "eco-friendly," we encourage you to look deeper if you truly care about sustainability. We donāt throw around green marketing claims, but we do our best to craft products that respect the place we all call homeš£
