Yes, we know… it’s February already.
But we’re still thinking about the New Year’s Reception. ✨

Some conversations linger a little longer and this one deserves a replay.

Just slightly over a week ago, we kicked off 2026 with NABC’s New Year’s Reception, proudly co-organised with our Strategic Partner, . It was also a milestone moment: the first member-exclusive edition of the NYR and a powerful reminder of what happens when our network comes together.

Under the theme Capital in Motion, we explored how capital truly moves in African markets: not just through transactions, but through trust, partnerships, shared risk, and long-term commitment.

From industry-wide collaboration and de-risking investment models, to decades of patient, partner-led growth, one message stood out clearly:
capital moves best in Africa when it moves together.

▶️ So yes, here’s the recap video we’re still thinking about.

Because some rooms, ideas, and connections are worth revisiting.

Thank you again to our speakers, members, and partners for making this first member-exclusive NYR such a meaningful start to the year. 🤝🌍

An 80-year anniversary on the horizon

So the NABC team came together, not for a classic strategy day, but for a vision board session. Because planning the future also means being intentional about it.

At NABC, we share a deep confidence in African business and a commitment to building strong bridges between Dutch expertise and African opportunities - rooted in partnership, trust, and long-term thinking.

2026, let’s get to work.

🌱 BUCRA’s first large-scale farmer training is a wrap!

Over 80 smallholder farmers joined us for an inspiring day of learning, exchange, and hands-on insights in Egypt. From practical sessions on soil management and soil diseases to live demos of innovative tools like digital crop advisory and smart irrigation, the energy and engagement were incredible.

The day wrapped up with a lively Q&A and a fun mini-competition - proof that knowledge grows best when shared together 🙌

A big thank you to our partners and supporters, especially the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation and GIZ Egypt, for helping make this possible. This milestone builds on earlier pilot trainings and marks the start of many more sessions to come.

From vibrant music and delicious food to celebrating strong economic ties; it has been an honour to join Angola’s 50th Independence Anniversary! 🇦🇴✨

On the 13th and 15th of November, NABC joined the celebrations hosted by the Embassy of Angola in The Hague and the Consulate General in Rotterdam. Leaders reflected on Angola’s development progress and the country’s priorities as Chair of the African Union, including boosting intra-African trade, strengthening sustainable resource management, and advancing renewable energy.

Both events highlighted the growing opportunities for collaboration, trade, and investment between our countries. 🌍🤝✨

🤝 The Sustainable Agriculture & Water Trade Mission to Benin was just the beginning!

During a follow-up info session organised by the 🇳🇱 Embassy in Benin, .nl, Netherlands Food Partnership & NABC, delegates came together to share updates, reflect on progress, and explore new opportunities in Benin’s agri and water sectors.

From port & water infrastructure to poultry, seeds, logistics, digitalisation & the water–agri nexus, one thing is clear: Dutch–Beninese collaboration is gaining momentum!

To support this, the Embassy launched an 18-month support programme with NABC, NFP, and local partners (Eurocham Bénin, CCI Bénin & APIEx). It offers structured follow-up, ecosystem support & tailored activities to help Dutch companies expand in Benin.

Special thanks to Ambassador H.E. Mr. Joris Jurriëns, Mr. Ivo Demmers, Ms. Lisette van Benthum & Ms. Edwige Bibilary for their support!

🌍 Driving positive and economic growth is at the heart of what we do at the NABC. We are beyond excited to share that our Managing Director had the opportunity to speak at the IQ-EQ Thought Leadership panel!

The keynote speech by Jacqueline van den Ende, Co-founder and CEO of Carbon Equity, ignited the room with inspiration. She reminded us to unleash our superpowers for the greater good and fearlessly break away from the norm. Her words resonated deeply, reinforcing our responsibility to make a meaningful impact.

The expert panel session brought together industry leaders who shared invaluable insights on emerging trends and tangible investment opportunities in Africa. With experts like Ben Zwinkels, Chairman of AfricInvest Group, an NABC member; Rosmarijn Fens, Managing Director of NABC; Theo van der Veen, the Head of Business Development at Signature Agri Investments, an NABC member; and Sandrine Henton, Managing Director of EG Capital, the discussions were nothing short of electrifying.

During our Managing Director's speech, three key principles were highlighted, guiding our successful approach to business and investment in Africa:

🤝 Treating Africa as an equal partner, not a mere beneficiary, propels collaborative mindsets and fosters sustainable outcomes that truly matter.
💡 Delving deep into local networks and conducting thorough research ensures that our decisions align with the diverse needs and aspirations of the communities we serve.
🌎 Listening to local voices and understanding their perspectives firsthand allows us to co-create impactful solutions, avoiding assumptions and truly addressing their challenges.

Positive impact investing in Africa opens doors to tremendous opportunities, where sustainable change goes hand in hand with financial success. Let us harness the power of collaboration and innovation to forge a future that benefits us all.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the team of IQ-EQ for organizing this incredible event, and we are immensely grateful to the esteemed panelists and attendees for their valuable contributions.
