The Women's Business Initiative International (WBII) is a community of women business owners sharing knowledge and experience to learn and grow together. WHAT WE DO

We empower members to achieve their business goals through three channels:

1. Community Building

Running a business can feel lonely and isolating at times. By gathering an International community of female-led businesses, we offer a

n inspiring space to connect and collaborate with others who understand the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship. Masterminds and Peer Support

Our Mastermind Groups provide an extra boost and dedicated working circle for members. These groups offer a unique opportunity to get valuable feedback on your latest projects and ideas, drawing from the collective wisdom of a group of like-minded women. The WBII Skill Shares are another way we support each other on a variety of topics related to our businesses.

3. Events and Social Activities

Our regular monthly events are a great opportunity to connect as well as increase our business knowledge around key topics relevant to both beginners and seasoned business owners. Each year the WBII designates a theme to focus our attention and events around. IMPACT is the theme for 2023. Our in-person and online events are open to both members and non-members. During the year, we also host occasional events to simply connect and gather socially. The WBII is based in The Hague but includes members from around the Netherlands. We are a women-only association with an inclusive definition of women, including trans women and any others who identify as a woman in a way that is significant to them. Since its establishment in 2006 as a Dutch not for profit foundation, close to 1000 women entrepreneurs from 30+ countries have actively participated in and benefited from this initiative.

A warm welcome to our new members! 🎉

Introducing Juke van der Scheer

As an all-round pelvic health physiotherapist Juke supports individuals dealing with issues related to the pelvic area like perinatal care, peri-menopausal care, urine urge- & incontinence, constipation and spinal issues to name a few. Her specialisation is in embodied sexual education and coaching, which makes her slow down to create sessions that are tailor made.

Introducing Jane Sum

Jane Sum is an executive and leadership coach working with mid to senior leaders in complex, international environments. She supports leaders in strengthening clarity, decision-making and influence as responsibility grows, helping them become more aware of how they show up under pressure and lead with greater presence, effectiveness and flow.

Let’s welcome our new members with a warm embrace and also take a moment to connect or reconnect with a fellow member we don't know well.

Our Book Club members enjoyed discussing 'Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender’ by David R. Hawkins.

Have you read it?

The book resonated differently with everyone - especially as we all read the book whilst in different life phases and emotional circumstances. It was an interesting discussion!

Trusted Spaces - are the spaces we create for the WBII community to hear, be seen and be heard with respect, dignity and, most importantly privacy. It speaks to the values all of us bring to each gathering, share with one another and foster - for ourselves as well as those who attend our sessions.

The WBII is a business network, to which female entrepreneurs are invited to broaden their networks; to build a network if they are recently relocated internationals with a business or starting a business; to learn from fellow entrepreneurs and our invited speakers; and to find moments of distraction, relaxation and friendship during our occasional social events.

We are, though, also a community of people with some shared and many diverse characteristics. What binds us is often the silent moments - when we step in for one another, offer a hand, prepare a meal for someone with a challenge - the list goes on. Many of the members I know, both past and present, could speak of moments when they too received from someone within the community of the WBII or when they were called upon as someone from the WBII.

This realisation made me not only proud of this diverse group of women, but also grateful that we have been able to create, sustain, nurture and protect the spaces in and during which we gather.

Thank you to all who are currently part of this ‘space’ and to all those who were part of it in the past.

Deborah Valentine, WBII Chair
