Lot 2010: An impressive and rare coin-operated “Concert & Tanz Automat” disc music box, manufactured by A. Lüneburg Musikwerke, Altona-Ottensen, Germany, circa 1900.
This large upright machine represents the golden age of mechanical music, designed for public venues such as cafés, dance halls, and fairgrounds. Upon insertion of a coin, the mechanism activates a rotating perforated metal disc, producing rich and vibrant musical compositions. The machine features a beautifully crafted wooden cabinet with strong architectural detailing, original glass panel decoration, and visible internal mechanism including the large interchangeable disc system.
A striking and authentic piece with both historical importance and strong decorative appeal.
