Lot 2010: An impressive and rare coin-operated “Concert & Tanz Automat” disc music box, manufactured by A. Lüneburg Musikwerke, Altona-Ottensen, Germany, circa 1900.

This large upright machine represents the golden age of mechanical music, designed for public venues such as cafés, dance halls, and fairgrounds. Upon insertion of a coin, the mechanism activates a rotating perforated metal disc, producing rich and vibrant musical compositions. The machine features a beautifully crafted wooden cabinet with strong architectural detailing, original glass panel decoration, and visible internal mechanism including the large interchangeable disc system.

A striking and authentic piece with both historical importance and strong decorative appeal.
Dimensions (H x W x D): 260 x 96 x 55 cm.

We are currently assembling the magnificent 1914 Hooghuys 77-Key Dance Organ “The Sunflower” in our gallery.

Once completed, it will stand alongside the extraordinary 1905 Mahauden 80-Key Dance Organ—a truly unique sight. To see these two historic masterpieces of mechanical music displayed side by side here in the Netherlands is something very special.

As soon as the installation is finished, both organs will be available for viewing and demonstration in playing condition.

Collectors, enthusiasts, museums, and interested parties are warmly invited to visit.

Over the past 10 days we travelled to Vienna no less than three times, in pursuit of what could become one of the most exciting consignments for the end of the year auction!

At DAC, we are constantly searching for unique collections, hidden treasures and extraordinary estates from across Europe and beyond. Sometimes that means spending long days on the road, visiting collectors, inspecting items, and carefully evaluating entire collections.

We are currently working on a major collection that may become part of one of our end of the year auctions. We can’t reveal the details yet, but collectors will definitely want to keep an eye on this one.

Another long day — and late into the evening — here at Dutch Auction Company!

Today our team has once again been hard at work sorting, identifying, cleaning, and matching an enormous collection of jukebox, wallbox, and vending machine parts by brand, model, and condition. From rare mechanisms and selector units to amplifiers, plastics, coin mechanisms, and hard-to-find components — this is truly a massive undertaking.

As you can see in the photos, the collection is huge, and unfortunately we will not be able to process and include every single part in our upcoming Two-Day Coin-Op & Collectibles Auction on June 12 & 13. We are doing everything we can to have as much ready as possible for the sale, and all remaining parts that are not processed in time will be offered in our End-of-Year Auction later this year.

A lot of work goes into handling collections of this scale, but our passionate DAC team loves every minute of it!
