That's exactly what Paula Montes Jiménez, Medical Engineer, is working on at Cybosense.

Current biosensors are rigid, toxic, expensive, and can only detect a handful of parameters at a time, a fundamental bottleneck for the future of security, defence, and precision agriculture.

Cybosense, a deep-tech spin-out from DTU - Technical University of Denmark and based here at UtrechtInc, is flipping the script with AI-enabled, skin-inspired living electronic materials, built on patented research from 's work on self-healing silk-graphene hydrogels and low-cost ionic conductors. Their sensors are:

AI Startup-Investor Matchmaking Event – 7 October 2026

On Wednesday, October 7, 2026, the Dutch AI ecosystem will once again organize an AI Startup-Investor Matchmaking Event, in the Amsterdam Area . They will bring together promising AI startups and investors from the Netherlands and surrounding countries.

Who should attend this event?
🔹 AI startups and spin-offs developing novel AI technologies and seeking (pre-)seed, Series A, or corporate investment.
🔹 Investors and corporate investment representatives looking to connect with the next generation of AI innovators.

This event is not for startups that apply readily available AI without further innovation and/or development.

What can you expect?
Approximately 15-20 investors, including European partners, for one-on-one matchmaking sessions with pre-selected startups: 5 rounds of 20 minutes each. You will have the opportunity to directly discuss growth plans, investment needs and AI solutions with relevant counterparts.

You can also attend inspiring presentations on AI business cases, regional, national and EU support programs for young AI companies, such as Breaking Barriers of AIC4NL, the TTT-AI program that supports academic entrepreneurship, and LLM-BRIDGE, a pan-European accelerator for GenAI and LLM-startups.

👋 Meet ReduCO2

ReduCO2 has developed a reactor system that replicates natural graphite formation, using CO2 emissions and hydrogen as feedstocks to produce pure, high-quality graphite with water as the only by-product. Each ton of graphite produced this way effectively removes and stores about 4 tons of CO₂, turning a critical raw material shortage into a climate solution. Graphite is a versatile material essential to numerous modern technologies, including electrodes and electric vehicle batteries. As a result, demand for graphite is increasing rapidly, yet the world is facing three main challenges:
(1) demand is surpassing the availability of natural graphite;
(2) Europe is dependent on a single supplier country;
(3) current synthetic graphite production methods generate substantial CO2 emissions.

Founded by Lotta Ternieten, Stefan Pitsch, and Andreas Hettmann, the team is tackling a problem sitting right at the intersection of climate and industrial policy, doing so with a process that runs at far lower temperatures and a far lower carbon footprint than the conventional route.

Through UtrechtInc's Science Validation Program, ReduCO2 has been testing the commercial potential of their technology, and the team found the mentorship of Vincent Ruijter (founder of iwell) especially interesting and helpful along the way.
