Leadership transition supports ODMedia's next phase of international growth and strategic development

ODMedia today announced that Emma Geelen, currently Chief Operating Officer, will become Chief Executive Officer from September 2026, as the company enters its next phase of growth. Sjef Pijnenburg, who founded ODMedia in 2004, will transition from CEO to the role of Founder and Strategic Advisor, allowing him to focus on vision, M&A, innovation, strategic partnerships and new commercial opportunities.

This planned transition is designed to align leadership focus with the increasing scale and complexity of ODMedia's international operations, while preserving the entrepreneurial spirit that has defined the company from day one. The vision, DNA and foundations built by Sjef Pijnenburg continue to shape the business, while Emma Geelen's leadership brings sharper strategic direction, strong ex*****on capability and a clear focus on organisational development.

Emma Geelen has played a central role in building ODMedia's organisation and supporting its growth across international markets, while accelerating innovation through the introduction of AI-driven products. As CEO, she will lead the company's strategic direction, performance and organisational development as ODMedia continues to expand its capabilities and international footprint.

"ODMedia has been a big part of my professional journey," said Emma Geelen. "Returning four years ago felt like coming home. We have built a strong position in the global content ecosystem, and I'm excited to lead ODMedia into its next phase. Working side by side with partners who shape the LATAM region.

ODMedia is pleased to mark the successful completion of a major content delivery project in close collaboration with RCN Studios, one of Colombia’s leading broadcasters and content producers, reinforcing a strong and trusted partnership in the Latin American market.

Together with RCN, our teams delivered La Hija del Mariachi, a flagship Colombian series with enduring regional and international appeal. ODMedia handled the full primary delivery workflow as well as the complete localization package, including Latin American Spanish SDH/CC and Audio Description, ensuring accessibility and consistency across platforms.

This project reflects the strength of our collaboration with RCN: shared standards, aligned teams, and a joint commitment to delivering premium content that resonates with audiences across the region and beyond.

On the ground in Bogotá, Silvia Acero represented ODMedia during a visit to RCN’s facilities, meeting with local teams and supporting the project at delivery level ensuring a seamless partnership.

ODMedia acknowledges the quality of its discussions with leading institutions and stakeholders in Côte d’Ivoire’s audiovisual sector

Alongside the teams of ODMedia Côte d’Ivoire, representatives from the group headquarters recently travelled to Côte d’Ivoire to meet with several key players in the local audiovisual ecosystem.

On this occasion, ODMedia had the honour of meeting with Mr. Amadou Coulibaly, Minister of Communication and Government Spokesperson, Mr. Jean Martial Adou, Director General of RTI, and Mr. Steve Fayomi, Director of External Communication and Brand at OCI, to discuss several major issues for the sector, including digital distribution, content monetization, rights management, localization, and catalogue value enhancement.

ODMedia warmly thanks all of its counterparts for the quality of their welcome and the richness of the discussions.
The discussions with the Ministry and its cabinet also highlighted the importance of ODMedia’s effective participation in SICA 2026, an event expected to play an important role in the structuring and promotion of the regional audiovisual ecosystem.

Present locally since 2016 through a structure now integrated into ODMedia, the company intends to continue this dialogue alongside industry stakeholders and contribute to the reach of African content across regional and international markets.

Last weekend, AFC Ajax initiated the livestream of the Olympia Future Cup 2026, driven by their ambition to make the tournament accessible to a global audience. Together with their long-term YouTube partner ODMedia and YouTube itself, Ajax brought the 14th edition of this prestigious international youth tournament to life via a YouTube livestream. The Future Cup is widely regarded as one of the most exciting showcases of the next generation of football talent. The livestream of this Under 17 tournament was visible not only via YouTube, but also via Ajax own website and app, and TikTok.

Held on April 4th, 5th and 6th, the Future Cup once again brought together top academies from around the world, offering fans a unique glimpse into the stars of tomorrow. We were proud to help bring this tournament to a global audience through a seamless and high‑quality YouTube livestream experience.
