*New milestone in the promotion of the PAC-PME mentorship approach: launch of the Mali Mentor Alliance *

We are pleased to share significant progress in the Projet d’Accompagnement à la Croissance des Petites et Moyennes Entreprises (PAC-PME) initiative by Fair & Sustainable Consulting. This project, funded by the Dutch Enterprise Agency (RVO), is currently underway in Bamako, Sikasso, and Ségou, Mali, with the goal of supporting 100 young entrepreneurs, 40% of whom are women. The initiative provides mentorships, training courses, and facilitates connections to investors, fostering both business and personal growth.

Key Features:

Mentorship Approach:
PAC-PME adopts a distinctive mentorship model wherein entrepreneurs take a central role. This departure from traditional approaches ensures that entrepreneurs lead their own journey of personal development and business growth.

Mentor Training:
Mentors undergo rigorous training, including quarterly mentor peer coaching sessions and on-the-job training. Real-life cases and role models are incorporated to equip mentors with the necessary skills for effective mentor-mentee relationships.
Mentor Guide:

A comprehensive mentor guide has been provided to all mentors. This guide outlines principles, best practices, and practical exercises, serving as a valuable resource for the mentorship program.

Malian Mentor Alliance:
As the first cohort concludes in Bamako, four mentors have initiated the Mali Mentor Alliance, supported by two additional mentors from the second cohort. The alliance is in the process of registration and has drafted its Charter, outlining its structure and objectives.

*PAC PME launches fourth and final cohort*

Recently, PAC PME successfully launched its fourth and final cohort in Ségou town; this following the launch of the second and third cohort. In June, PAC PME organized two bootcamps to select the entrepreneurs and mentors. These events resulted in the selection of 25 entrepreneurs and 9 mentors. At the time of writing in August, the first mentor intervision and peer coaching event for the entrepreneurs are taking place. Read more in the post below.

BSF production is emerging as a new agricultural sub-sector because it can be a sustainable and circular source of protein for animal feed. However, the production of BSF is still in its infancy and knowledge on the value chain remains limited.
