We have our first case of the year! Klimaatplein is an organisation that informs, inspires, and activates companies and institutions to reduce their CO2 footprint. They do this by, for example, showing how easy it is to save energy and generate sustainable energy. With the current measures we will not meet the goals of the Paris Agreement. ‘Degrowth’ can help with achieving these goals. Klimaatplein wants us to envision the possibilities of ‘degrowth’ and to see how businesses can be encouraged to adopt ‘degrowth’. For this case we need students that are willing to work 6 to 8 hours per week for two months, for a compensation of €14 per hour. If you want to apply for this project, use the following google form link: https://forms.gle/MEEVS6djgMxRR6H59. Make sure to apply before December 18th! Note: This is an English case, so all students can apply.

LAST DAY TO APPLY FOR THE BHM SOLAR CASE! Apply before 23rd March 23:59! A great learning experience, where (possible) you and two other students become student consultants for an Utrecht based firm. Keep reading if you are interested! This case is only available for Dutch speaking students.

Case description:
BHM solar is a company that wants to play a major role in the energy transition. They help develop solar parks and arrange the finances for large scale solar projects in the Netherlands, and specifically in Utrecht. Hi students,

Last chance to submit your application! It is a perfect timing to be a part of a relevant case. Healthcare is indispensible in society! According to our previous student consultants, it is a nice job that combines well with your study.

Dytter is an online platform that matches healthcare organizations with independent healthcare providers. They stand for good and affordable care that is quickly arranged. Side note: the case is only available for Dutch speaking students.

Case description:
Dytter is a company that provides independent nurses and specific care in the home care and nursing homes. In 2021, they want to extend their services by also providing healthcare specialists in the disabled care (GHZ) and the mental healthcare (GGZ). Dytter asked us to look at the disabled and mental healthcare sectors and what the market looks like. They are also very interested in how these sectors differ from the nursing homes and home care they are familiar with. What are the quality requirements for Dytter’s employees and how should Dytter adjust their platform? With this case you will give advice about how Dytter should change their platform to meet the standards of these sectors.

The case will start in February and will end in May or June. The expected workload will be about five hours per week.
Do you want to put theory into practice and are you interested in the healthcare sector?
We are looking for three students, so sign up for the case and earn 14 euros per hour!
Fill in the form before January 20th, 23:59h.

We are pleased to announce that the Greenspread case has been completed. Below a message from Eliane Schilte about her experience.

The innovative Greenspread has worked towards a proposition to transform business parks in a sustainable way, by offering help to identify and effectuate various renewable energy possibilities that fit their customer’s wishes. To reach customers and effectively implement the proposed solutions, a well-thought-out distribution strategy is indispensable - and that is exactly where Helix Consulting came in.

Under the supervision of (previous) Helix Consulting board member Wouter, we, the selected team consisting of four students, did what our educational background in Science & Innovation Management has long prepared us for: putting theory into practice. Through executing a quick scan, distributing a survey and conducting in-depth interviews, we formed an advice on the most effective distribution strategy for the promising proposition of Greenspread. The advice, as presented to Greenspread online, elaborated on the importance of distributing via firms and highlighted the networking opportunities via associations of firms, along with a number of additional relevant findings from the research.

The team, consisting of Britt ten Bergen, Robbert Messing, Lotte Veldman and myself, has carried out this research in the past months. This has been a great experience and provided meaningful insights into opportunities and barriers in implementing sustainable strategies. The different team members’ qualities complemented each other well and provided a pleasant and constantly challenging working environment.

We would like to thank Helix Consulting for arranging this opportunity, and Greenspread for their enthusiasm and open-minded approach to our findings. When the circumstances safely allow it, we are eager to come visit your company!

Eliane Schilte, on behalf of the case team
