Quinces look like a mix between an apple and a pear.

While they’re very hard, sour and bitter when raw, they transform completely when cooked, becoming soft, and naturally sweet.

They’re often used in traditional recipes like jams, jellies, and slow-cooked desserts, especially in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine.
